PC and Modem trouble.....

Bit of a wierd one this, so before I trail the net for some sort of tech board or something for hours on end, I was wondering if there was any technical (not SL1200's!) bods around here to answer my question????. Here goes:

I am running both WinMe and Win2000 Server on a dual boot system with a bog standard modem at 56K. The thing works alright besides cutting off unexpectedly sometimes, but the thing is - when my computer is switched off (but everything is else is left hooked up ie modem power cable and phone connection lead) if somebody phones my house, or if a tree clips the phoneline and it rings even once - my bloody PC starts itself up!!!!!!!!!!!.
This can be *very* annoying if you forget to unplug everything and it bings at 2.00 in the morning or if you need a hangovery lye in at weekend and some bugger rings early - my pc sounds like a hoover!!.

Strange phenomenon happenin' here............any clues anyone???....

Ta!, thanks very much. Ill give that a whirl next time I boot up(presuming I can remember which button to press!! - think its delete innit?). If it works, it will have saved me a lot of future stress and hours searching the web!!. Good one.

There should be a jumper / bridge type thingy on the mainboard labeled WOL , just remove it if its on there or put it on if its not on there.....
