| Techy Q - Any help would be appreciated About a week ago I installed some nobhead program, ive forgot its name, but it was ment to contain loads of codec shit for playing all different files, in win media anyway if fucked up files in my documents, My problem is I cant right click on any music files now, when I do it hangs and then doc watson chucks up an error report. and i get drwatson.exe in tsk mngr. I first solved this by using system restore and resotred the PC to before I installed the program, however its come back. This leads me to think that it wasnt the application that was the problem Ive no viruses or adware or none of that shit and if I right click on applications folders on me desktop its fine, its just files in my docs my music I cant right click on. Any ideas ??? I can syst restore again but its going to wipe out a shit load of changes that ive made to the network and i cant be arsed doing it all again lol Any ideas ? |

| somehow Cant remember off hand how to do it, but theres a way you can view all the file extensions (.mp3,.wav,.ogg etc) and in the next column should be a list as to which programs open these files. All you need to do bud is change the programs back to the original settings. Bit of a pisser when you have to do it manually tho! Andy |

| nope fella, having investigated further, its all applicaions all files in all folders and desktop that I cant right click on. I can click on folders themselves but not files they contain Im need to know which file it is in the registry which enables the drop down menu when you right click on a file, once i find out which key it is I can copy it from another machine but its well fucking hidden somewhere in syst32 files and they dont go out your way to tell you which fuckin one like lol I'm currently restoring my system to before installing SP2 (taking fuckin ages as well ) lol as it would cause its reinstalling SP1 Finger crossed that when I down load SP2 it will over right all previous registry keys for system files and this will be one of the files it over writes, however im not too hopeful about this cause when SP2 was installed I never noticed any change to right click drop down. Anyways ive gone through the registry and taken out every thing that was to do with this wank proggy I installed and removed all keys folders paths etc etc.................. I so much hope I do not have to rebuild this fucking thing cause ive lost me fookin Key. Theres a point do you have any idea where you can get the CD key from your system off by hand ?? save me searching for the bastard lol |

Nice one ![]() I managed to sort it all out though without rebuilding but it was a fucker of a job and I lost a full weeks work on the network. Im liking SP2 though theres so much more in there than SP1 that they dont show eg TCP/IP 6 so ive installed that on me network as well That key viewer is the bollocks mate, Im currently collecting keys now lolololol just incase I ever need them ![]() |
