I can import a table ok, it's just text and excel that it won't import.

no error message as such just 'encounters a problem'.

colleagus are ok on 2000, I was ok on 97 it's just this bloody 2002...

what I should have said was can you export a table from your version of access to a text file or csv and then bring that back in? I've had some quirks with formatting before now, can't remember what exactly other than it was to do with seperators or tabs or something.

no I can't.

for a while I though it was a compatability issue with diff' versions but I've just created a new database, built a table, exported as .xls and tried to import it back.

it's just not having it.

I take it that is on Win XP?

Did you know you can #downgrade# the operating system, with something called compatability mode?

I use this a lot for programs that aren't happy with XP or Win2k

Right click on an program (.exe) and here's 3 easy steps to show you how:

(see attached image)
