| soundforge problem ... ... or at least i think its to do with soundforge basically, after having soundforge open and running for about ten minutes, say if i was recording a set or saving a large file .... all of a sudden my computer will just turn off its thrashing my head, as its only just started fdoing it for some reason .... also, when burning in nero, when i hit burn it usually fires off straight aways, but now it takes about a minute or so before anything starts happening (ie. my comp freezes for a minute)god i wish i knew my computers and didnt have to keep coming in here askin you lot for help, hehe help appreciated as always danny ![]()

| Hard Drive could be overheating, or your processor is o/h and a possible built in 'safe guard' kicks in shutting it down. Or, you need to degrag your hard drive, soundforge shouldn't close your pc down, but you may notice drop outs in the audio you are capturing if the drive hasn't been degrag'd in a while. If it's generally sluggish and being a twat, you might want to backup all you need to, format it and start afresh... |

| Could be your soundcard fella, i am having that problem, my computer will switch off by itself, its a soundcard driver issue, mine is corrupted but i cannot find any other drivers to sort the problem out hope that helped ![]() |

| There's a few viruses around that cause reboots - might be worth getting an online check before you start wiping your drive - try www.symantec.com Otherwise I would agree with most of what's been suggested. That's the joy of PCs - so many different things that can go wrong ![]() ps Johns_AR I like your strapline - sounds like a Sid Waddell classic if I'm not mistaken? |
