Paypal refund question????

My dad recently bought a phone off some one on ebay. The bloke messed us about but we finallygot the phone last week and now i see why he messed us about. The seller says the phone is in mint condition and he used it for four months himself. When we got it we could`nt get the phone to ring either this bloke was deff or he`s blagging us.

I took it to a bloke on the local market and he ispected it and found that it had been in bits before as there was a screw snapped in it and what was found was that the ringer speaker was missing.Lolol what the feck to these people think everbody`s stupid and would`nt notice that id did`nt ring???.

We emailed him back before we took it to see what was wrong with it and he told us to take it to a carphone warehouse to see if they could fix it.Lol so a phone in mint condition needs to be repaired which i`m told will cost proberbly another £20+.

We have asked for a refund and siad we`ll send him the phone back which he agreed to on friday but then sent us an email this morning asking if we`ve got it fixed yet.So i emailhim back to say just refund our money and i`ll send the phone back.

Lol this is the question i want know as we only pay through paypal how does he refund my money back through paypal and do you get a reciept the same as when you pay someone????

I know it`s along thread but i jusy had to ley this out.

Thanks in advance.

DTG

If you paid in the last 30 days then you can refund any Paypal payment with one click (go into the history and find the transaction) - this way no-one has to pay any fees (for either transaction)

If you paid out of your Paypal account you can contact Paypal for a refund yourself if you are unhappy within 30 days (so I believe)

If you paid via Paypal - but using your credit card then I think that you have up to 3 months to do a "CHARGEBACK"

If you paid thru credit card im sure that you can do a chargeback - if the item was not what was discribed

Don't let the seller try and piss you about (ie making you hold on until certain time limits have passed)
