Question Help Compensation advice

Ok I was biking to work on tuesday on my mountain bike (custom built by me from various parts estimated value £1500 or thereabouts) and as I was crossing a roundabout some fool flew down the only turn left lane of a junction I was passing at about 30mph and attempted to go straight over the roundabout so he hit the rear side of my bike throwing me off.
I suffered a fractured wrist (I have a cast on it now), fractured elbow and bruised ribs amongst other minor scrapes and cuts and my bike suffered a broken rear brake, a major pringle looking rear wheel, a slightly bent crank, the front and rear gears were bent and the rear triangle of the frame was squashed in an inch or two.
The bloke who hit me has admitted liabilty to me and the police, there coming to take a statement off me tonight but they spoke to him yesterday so I dont know but I can assume he will be charged with driving without due care and attention.
There was plenty of people around as it was rush hour but I dont know of any witness's that came foward, the police woman said some lady phoned it in but didnt leave her name so it could be my word against his.
Im looking at 6 weeks or thereabouts off work to recover but my work has a sickness scheme where I get paid 90% of my salary so I wont lose too much pay.
Does anyone have any knowledge of personal injury claims, I assume I can get some money for loss of earnings and compensation for breaking some bones but how stingy are these insurance companys, is it better to try and get my whole bike replaced (its what Im really worried about not my injuries) or are they more likelly to try to just replace the broken parts?
My bike isnt an off the shelf type of one though it was built and constantlly upgraded so I cant say its a year old or 5 years old as I was constantlly replacing and upgrading parts as I came across them, Im sure I could get my local bike mechanic to say it was well looked after and allmost as new so I really would like a brand new £1500 bike if possible.
Should I deal with the insurance company myself or try one of these specialist lawyers that you see advertised or should I speak to a local lawyer?

Sorry to hear that mate, I reckon you need to get yourself a lawyer. I was invloved in a pretty major road accident a few years ago, and it properly paid off getting them invloved. Morgan Jones Pett was the company I used, and I noticed the other day they have a branch down Prince Of Wales Road in Norwich. Pretty sure Morgan Jones operate a no win no fee deal, which is what they did for me when I was making my claim. Where abouts was your accident?

Thanks for the kind words and advice chaps
I was hit on the roundabout at dereham road/gardian rd/sweet briar rd.
I think my best option is to go see a lawyer in the city, I'll try that one you suggested froz cheers.
Like that bike you got skippy, very nice allthough Im going to get a svelte 22lb (ish) hard tail I hope, had my eye on a nice frame by some obscure french (I think) company called Commencal as its rare and very light, have a look, allthough I'd love to get a specialised s-works out of them but I think thats a bit too much too ask :p

Should be a nice replacement for my old Coyote HT, I just hope this can be sorted out in a short ammount of time as Im back to work in late january and need a bike to get there, otherwise I'll have to try and find enough parts lying about to build up my old Identiti which I never liked (only bought it because it was a great deal and I wanted the parts off it, included rock shox psylo race/chris king hs etc)
