Net MD portable minidisc

I'm sure I remember reading a few people on here have these - the portable minidisc players that plug into the USB port

I've just reinstalled the software for the first time since I've upgraded to windows XP. Now when I try and "check out" songs to the minidisc, the jukebox program converts 9% of the first file then does nothing... it just gets stuck and all I can do is press cancel. The walkman seems to be connected to the computer OK, it shows up in device manager and says PC > MD on the screen on the walkman. I'm not sure the software is even getting to the stage where it's transferring the songs over - it gets stuck when converting them. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software several times and it still does the same.

I have looked on both the open MG site and the sony MD walkman support site and there is bugger all there to help me, there's also nothing about this in the help section in the program. Nor can I find any software updates. I think this is the last time I buy anything made by Sony!!!

Any ideas?

Just a thought mate but is it 9% of the first file on any disc or just the one in it now.

It could be a corrupt file, I would try another disc perhaps just to eliminate the possibility.

Yeah I thought it might be a problem with the file at first but I've tried lots of different ones same problem with all of them.
