Can anyone recommend a free Ghost alternative

Hi,

After the great computer crash, I was wondering if there is an easier alternative to symmantec's GHOST for backing up a full system installation.

I know theres the windows xp 'rollback', but is that as good?.

Peferably a legal free one would be nice

The thing with the Ghost I had was it was Dos orientated and not too easy to navigate, and quite easy to select a wrong option etc.....Looking on thier website (just now) there seems to be Norton Ghost for windows.......does anyone have any experience with this? It could be what Im looking for (??)

Well, I personally would use the windows port of the Unix utility "dd". It is a great tool for imaging disks but can be feared by people who get scared of being in control.

Otherwise, there are plenty of freeware imaging utils available on the internet and google should help ya find them. I can't recommend any as I would use dd or ghost.

Ghost for windows is easy to work with and all over Overnet, Kazaa etc etc.
