problems posting

hope someone can help me with this as its startin to do my head in, last week i started having problems replying to posts on here and other sites , when i type in my reply/new post and then hit submit it just goes to cannot find server page , it also does same thing when i try to log into my ebay acccount or my online banking accounts, i can send/ recieve emails ok and hav no problems veiwing webpages .
I have reinstalled windows 3 times and it still has same problem, and also cookies are set to accept all.

Any help much appreciated.

have yer done windows update as well to update yer internet explorer?

Mark try clearing out all your temp internet files and cookies, reinstall wont fix it, the problem is more than likely with your ISP or internet explorer. (your getting the 404 page because it's timing out)

What connection are you on 56k, isdn, adsl??

When you click submit does it take a long time? This would suggest a problem with the isp.......

What version of Internet explorer are you using? i have came across similar problems after prople have upgraded to ie6 sp1.

Are you running a firewall, spyware blocker or any of that stuff, that could also cause the problem, you may also have to scan for virus, there was a real badboy knocking about for a while that done this to users at another forum I use.

tried all those thingsand still no joy, i've given up and left it into shop for someone to look at for me.

mate i had trouble with the online banking & ebay a bit ago..i'd just reinstalled windows and the problem was encryption.

my browser wasn't set to 128 bit encryption, it was on 56 or something..

easiest way to check is to do;

help > about internet explorer > check the second line down is reading 128, if not that's your problem..

Hi Mark, I have had problems posting too, kept going to the log on screen even though I had logged on. Then restarted the computer and my member name was still on the board, I said WTF??? So I have changed my password and things seem to be going OK, for now.

Dont know what is going on, but I will be checking the skies tonight!!! LOL

Anybody else having this problem???

WOOOHOOOO finally got me internet sorted again, btw it was a problem with NTL's cache server in belfast switch.
