What I am trying to do, is make a quick refernece sheet that will take the minutes of certain calls, and multiply them by a sum (£) and spit out the result....

Ie

ie 2 minutes at £0.01 = £0.02

Hope this helps

Why not just times the minutes (as a normal number - not time) by the amount.

e.g.
Don't enter the time as time (00:02:00) enter as 2 !

Seems the easy way out !

Or

If you do a formula to change everything to decimal then you can multiply the seconds or hours as well.

Had to do something similar the other week - I was teaching a lady who's a boss at BT and she had to work out call time on line to customers and also the time operators spent closing a call etc., then produce some charts showing everything.

Then it was another to show how much time people had off sick and for appointments etc., to add up total hour lost.

If this is something like you need let me know.

THe thing that I'm trying to accomplish is for billoing

Basicaly I'm exporting the info from the main billing system to import into an Excell sheet, then do an auto calculation on the miutes certain calls.

I have found the way to automaticaly isolate the calls, the problem I'm getting is doing the automatic calculation on the time!!! Maybe this modify time to a decimal might work... will need to explorer.....

Byt he looks of what you said the BT one seem to be damn close to what I want

you could bodge it with a function like this just remember to make sure the format of the 05:23:00 cells are text but this will work

paste it into VB and then use =cost(time,rate) where time is the 05:00:00 cell and rate is the ............

hope this helps

Public Function cost(t_var, rate)
mins = (Val(Left$(t_var, 2)) * 60) + Val(Mid$(t_var, 4, 2)) + Val(Right$(t_var, 2)) / 100
cost = mins * rate
End Function
