ripping to mp3

yes the age old question that has been asked many times before

but please help i have the sound comin from my comp how do i use Soundforge 6.0 to records just pressed records but the sound level isnt detected even though i can hear sound

i have volumes up full can hear music good not muffled but when i press the record button the timer does not move the graphic equalizer doesnt bob up and down green to red but the record button flashes

Whats missing ?????

managed to get the sound and graph bars moving on Sonic Foundry only thing is when i play back there used to be a solid graph now theres just a few single lines and the sound like a record on the end grooves before it hits the label.

is there somethin on Sonic i need to change so i can get decent sound like a bit rate or somethin ????

never used that program, but I think that this is standard troughout

Up the recording levels uop (not to much) Change the bit rate to at least 128kps and slap the good old MP3 onthere That should ure it.

Make sure that you have the correct inputs in the different places
