Movie jack 3 nerdy questions.

Could somenoe please tell me if you can use this to convert an avi film which i downloaded of kazzaa into an xsvc. the film is already on my computer and not on a disc. What i`m really asking for is an easty guide to doing this.

Ive had a bit of a mess about but have not come up with any thing yet/I`ll have another mess about.I would like to know if this is at all possible.

Thanks in advance

No m8, you cant but the very best tool to do that with is TMPGEnc Plus. I uploaded it to John_ar's FTP last week. I could/would happily send it you via MSN or something if you like with a little guide (its dead simple anyway) on how to convert AVI/XVID/DIVX to VCD/SVCD/XVCD/KVCD/CSVCD etc. Ill even include a template with all the setting pre-loaded so all you would have to do is load the template, pick your input and output and sit back and wait

Incidently CSVCD will make a perfect conversion and fit almost any film onto 1*80min CD...so its handy as feck.

No sooner said than done m8.

Download this little guide I just made for you and the template. Youll need to rename this file from .mp3 to .zip

Have any problems let me know.

You need to have 2 codecs installed, they are DivX and Xvid and you should be laughing m8. You can download them free from loads of places just search them out on google, download, install, and youll be fine.

Another nerdy question myk. When i tried to load the film in the audion it comes up with the meesage again saying it is un supported .Do i have to rename it to audio or something.I already have the xvid and divx codecs installed as well.It also says i need to install mpeg2 playback software because when it starts encoding it`s very jerky. It there a plug in or something for the software.Whaen i`ve encoded a bit of the file i tried it,there was picture but no audio.Do i have to split the video and audio up.

Thanks in advance digthemusic

If its soundless ist because youre still missing codecs, maybe you have an oddly put together Xvid or something.

Anyway the way round it is to download and install the nimo codec pack, it has ALL the codecs out there at the moment and you can grab it here :
http://nimo.titanesk.com/modules/fre...index.php?id=2 (Get build 8)

As far as renaming is concerned if its an AVI (be it Divx or XVid) you dont need to rename it. Infact you probably dont even need to load the audio as it should snap into place automatically when you load the video file.

Install Nimo and let me know how it goes after that

Yeah install the lot m8....you can always uninstall later if need be but Ive had no problems with it.

P.S Even the G400 filter aint gonna hurt its just not gonna do anything either so that one is upto you. But you do want the rest.

Lol if i install the full codecs it can`t open certain files to load stuff in them and fecks up me computer. What it does is when i open any of me downloaded films it comes up with an error message and then returns to me screen saver and knock of all me icons and toolbar, but when i install the basic package it does`nt do this so i gather it someting i install on the full package which does`nt in stall on the basic package.

I`ll have to have a dabble about with it to find out what is conflickting it.

Hope you know a quick fix myk m8.

digthemusic

P.s i`m running win 2000 and sometimes when i open a certain program which i can`t remember there seem to be a gremlin that knocks of certain icons in the bottom left next to the clock.

Try installing full without the Morgan Multimedia option, should be ok then.

As far as you icons..it could be for many reason. Eitherway Ill tell you 2 things :

1. The are on the bottom right not left :p
and
2. They are fuckin resource hogs m8, everything thats running near that little clock of yours is swallowing precious cpu time and memory. Id personally ditch the lot except for maybe the anti-virus if youre using one Even if they arent running as background task (little icons near clock) you can still use them by starting them via the usual start/programs menu as and when you want them

It` sstopped messing up my computer now cheers myk your a pure genius.Could you also tell me if theres a mpeg 2 plug in for TMPGEnc software because it say i`ve not got the software for playback when encoding. All my fims play apart from one which gives me the dreaded green screen but i`ve used the g spoy gadget and it tells me the codecs are in stalled so i gather it`s just a badly put together one. It`s never been right come to think off it.

Dé gracias otra vez para la información

There is no specific plug-in as such for TMPGenc as it relies on whatever codecs you have installed on your system to encode. As far as play back is concerned you are best off grabbing some DVD playback software such as PowerDVD or WinDVD (I personally use PowerDVD as it will playback almost anything you throw at it, it can be found easily enough on Kazaa, Overnet etc etc, if not I do have a cracked copy *cough* I'd be willing to share).
Really now you have Nimo installed along with TMPGenc Plus you should be able to do anything you need to. The green frames are a typical symptom of a "floating point error" within the compilation of the film (simply put, a bad movie) they can be fixed but its another process altogther.

And as for your Spanish...well.....*I bow to your linguistic mastery*
