ho ho ho... hope it wasn't you that deleted it

Once you've deleted a mailbox its gone with the wind mate. You make regular backups of the mail servers right? Restore the backup to a standalone server and save the contents to a .pst or something.

If you don't do backups then consider this a lesson on why you should

Shame... cause if you used Exhange 2000 then there's a chance of recovery

oh well...

Hi

No backups????

Shame on your bosses for not sorting it out lol

If you can spend time with the exchnage server down then you can take a manually backup of the server database files by stopping all exchange services

then search in the exchnage server folder for anything end in .EDB

youll find about 6 files on a folder called EDBDATA(Depending on server plugins)

The most important 2 (They are all vital anyway) are PRIV.EDB and PUB.EDB

PRIV.EDB is your users private emails
PUB.EDB is the public files

Just copy all of these files to a PC somewhere and keep it safe

This is only good for backing up and rescuing a whole server / corrupted exchange datbase not for individual mailboxes though

You could hope for a PST archive on the users workstation and recreate then users and import eveything back in

if you aint got that then its a horrible search throuygh the server archives as detailed in the other Exchange post
