installing windows xp

Hope some1 can help me with this. i'm trying to upgrade wondows millenium to xp professional and everytime i run disc iget half way through install and it fails. Its tellin me that there is a "manifest parse error" and that it could not be installed. Has any 1 come across this before and if so how the feck do i sort it??

The only thing i can think of mate ids that you are upgrading..... these systems are MILES apart... try the fresh install.. but BACK UP EVERYTHING in sight!

back all yer stuff up to cds mate and format the fucker

use the floppy disk what came with the pc and put that in then format it using fdisk

type fdisk in at the dos prompt and yerll get some menus

................... or do it the easy way.... back up

then boot unter windowz and then pop the CD in and in there (first setup screen) select the advanced option wihch is fresh, or new install... and there you go... Don't bother with Fdisk on the basis that XP can not be launched from dos!
