making a tape

following on from jamies thread.
ive had my decks about a year and half and can mix half decent.
(with assistance of a beat counter)

but every time i try to make a tape they sound a bit shit.the beat matching is right but they just need tidiyng up.

has anyone got any advice on making a tape.
