| Sony Net MD I've seen a thread with a couple stating you have this player. Just wondering how many albums you can get onto 1 disk? Also, the software version I have is old and the site has a patch for version x.x.x. The page states that the patch should only be applied to that version only. The problem is that my software is older and I'm unsure whether to install it or not ![]() Anyone got any good links for the Net MD and Open Jukebox stuff? --- Fug

| I've copied some 12's onto a MD and when I use the OpenMG jukebox to check-in I cannot copy them to my hard drive. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

| Fug unfortunately what you've described there is one of the only disappointing features of the net MD software. While you can obviously copy audio from your PC to the net MD, unfortunately it doesn't work the other way round, I was well pissed off when I realised this. Although you have the option to 'check in', this doesn't actually copy the tunes to your PC. Part of Sony's copy protection is that you can only check out an mp3 from your computer a limited number of times (3 or 4 I think). This prevents you from making large numbers of copies of the same music. Checking a track back in just sends info back to the Open MG software so that you are free to copy the tune again, rather than actually transferring the audio back to the CD. (Hope I've explained this OK, I can't actually think how else to word it). Pissed me off when I worked this out cos I have loads of minidiscs from a few years ago that I would like to have ripped at high speed....... |
