Holy Shit It wont delete.....

This file has found its way onto my puter, its a .jpg extension and the fekker wont delete. ive tried Windows Washer, Evidence Eliminator and JV Tools!.
Its some wierd file thats appeared in my Kaazaa lite 'my downloaded files' folder and its got a really really long filename of junk and obscenities you wouldnt want anyone to see!. I think its the filename which windows cant handle or something - you ask Evidence Eliminator to delete it and it says its not there......you try and delete the whole folder and it says "Cant delete - Cannot find specified file "svghhgvhsgvh......jpg". It wont rename or anything!.
God, I must get rid of it........I dont know how its got there .

Any ideas peeps?

go to DOS and do a dir and a del from there?

I was about to propose that!

Also try switching off Kazaa then delete it It might be in use....

I suspect Mr Frog has hit the nail on the head. If the file is being used elsewhere then you cannot delete it.

What is the exact error message you get when trying to delete?

It says "Cannot delete 494gygyetc^1.jpg Cannot find the specified file - Make sure you specify the correct path and file name"

I ve run all sorts of progs and rebooted about 5 times in an hour! its still sat right there!. Bugger me.

How do you do it dos chaps, your talking to a DOS novice here......

what is the exact path of the folder????


ie.

c:/windows/virus/blahblah[...] wsngsoebjfd.jpg

D:\Program Files\KaZaA Lite\My Shared Folder\uyttwwutut.jpg

rite

go to the dos prompt
then type

cd \Program Files\KaZaA Lite\My Shared Folder

then dir /p

this will list everythig in the directory... you need to hit a key to get the list continuation

then type

earse uyttwwutut.jpg

and enter

if this doesn't work, then try a boot disk and do it from the command prompt BEFORE windows steps in

It says "Could not find D:\Program......7rwfsfjf.jpg 'w' is not recognised as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file"....

erase *.*

fek, Im uninstaling Kaaza the very next thing. i dont know how the bloody thing got there but its not hapenning again!!.

Im running "Kazaa lite" with "Diet Kaza" too...... Perhaps its a dodgy infested version or something?.
