FTP programmes

DOes anyone know if there is an ftp program that shows you previews of whats in a folder.

For example one that would bring up thumbnails of my rediculously full splattdesigns/misc directory?

Not sure that they exist least not for previewing the images which is what I pressume youre after. See in order to preview them all it would first have to download them all which is just as long winded as doing it manually

I maybe wrong but I just cant see how a program like that would work.

Bargain. Without any server side software creating previews on the fly, it still has to download the full file to your PC first though surely?

Just found exceed on Kazaa - 133 Meg!

Hmm I think theres a bit more to it than thumbnail previews and I think its server-side software.

Ah well never mind.

Aye - I've had a look and it looks pretty handy - but it'll take mne weeks to download so I'll wait till I visit my mate with broadband again!

Cheers for putting me onto it though!

Yep.

I use Exceed for working with Unix. It is overkill for what you need. It works like X-Windows, an agent sends back the screen from the remote system to your local PC... at least that is how it works under Unix. Its basically a posh telnet.

Why don't you use a HTML thumb generator from tucows and just access it via a web page. It would be pretty straight forward to run a cron/at job that updated the thumbs page on a regular basis.
