Goodtimes @ Club Mocha - Hudds - 14/04/07

Thought i'd best do a review straight away befroe things get too messy

Reet . . . Set off at 8:15 giddy as a school kid, got there bout 9:30 to be greeted by eddy osborne (with his new long hair) dropped off mi record box and proceeded to the bar not many in at this point but loads of old faces i aint seen in ages On the dex was dj perky who was warming the crowd up as more ppl entered the building . . . apparantly one of the dex was fooooked so another needed to be brought down

But never the less perky still played a blinder (really loving gongo - masta blasta ) was a mint set to enter the club to, got me going anyways

10:00 came and I proceeded to the dex to start mi set, was playing a zone synth set and wasn't sure how it would go down at that point in the night but my question was soon answered by 2 tunes into my set and the dancefloor was full (well buzzing) the place was pretty full now with everyone well enjoying it best part for me was seeing gaz trying to keep up his dancing with the speed of the dex, lol well done mate, ya did well

After i'd finished on came paul h to take over who did ded well to say the pace got slowed well down from my previous set starting nicely with atomic house and including laura palmer (that fooooker went down a treat ) thoroughly enjoyed every tune

By this point the night was in full swing with everyone just dancing and enjoying themselves everyone friendly and all there for the same thing 'a jolly goodtime'

After paul h on the dex was the man like andy pendle who did exactly what he sets out to do and plays a blinder playing all sorts of uk piano, italo piano, breakbeat and oldskool hardcore . . . all blended together beautifully  Up to this point all the sets had been top notch the only dj's left were eddy and ben (and boy did they have some wicked sets to beat)

But . . . . . . .

. . . . . . . . because of a bit of bother (wont go into detail) eddy was kicked out of the club which meant Ben needed some one to take eddy's place back 2 back with him

Luckily hikkyb had a bag of tunes in his car, so I grabbed em and joined ben on the dex for the last 2 hours and what a 2 hours it was, ben went first and got the crowd hooked straight away by playing BLACK BOX - RIDE ON TIME the crowd went absolutely bonkers and they continued through out the set

We did 2 tunes each and did reeet well, ben were sticking loads of uk piano and bowlers stuff whilst i were hitting back with italo and a bit of synth second to last tune i put sunscreem - pressurs us (not played it in ages) and the crowd went nuts for it (in fact, so did I)

The night finished bang on 3 and everyone was turfed out, with no bother at all, everyone just buzzing about the good time they just had

tunes of the night from each dj were for me:
  • DJ PERKY GONGO - MASTA BLASTA
  • PAUL H LAURA PALMER = IN THE MIX
  • ME METRO = READY ON THE NIGHT
  • ANDY PENDLE DERRY HALL = JUST FOR WEEK-END
  • BEN & ME BLACK BOX = RIDE ON TIME
  • SUNSCREEM = PRESSURE US

Tune which got the best reaction from the crowd:

BLACKBOX - RIDE ON TIME

Well that was the night in general music wise and attitude wise.

Onto the ppl, I love GT for the crowd, all the old faces who used to go when it first started ppl I aint seen in ages, it's like we've all just sat at home waiting for the day when GT would return

Good to see again: FOXY, GEMMA, GINGERJIM, RUSH FX, PAUL H, and all others who are true GT followers.

A nice little turn out of OSAers too, of which included:

VEE - my beautiful
VA - and his waffling
LI'L SONZ - late getting ready
LORA LOVES SONZ - nice one for the usage of the car
HIKKYB - the ultimate dancer
BETTY SPAGHETTI - lovin linda fields
BIG SAM - probably skinning up, lol
ELVISONTOUR - was well shocked when ya were there :wtf:
DJ BUCKY - nice to meet ya finally
OLDSKOOLKIDDER - happy birthday fella
MISS C - sexy with her new blond hair (wit woooo )

TUT, TUT TO WOODY!!!!! where the hell were ya??? ya big gayer, ya missed a top night

there were probably more, apologies if i've missed ya

Never, ever had a crap time at GT . . . always have a buzz and love the event from start to finish and cant wait for the next one, cos I already know its gonna be mint

If any of ya's haven't been to a Goodtimes Event then ya don't know what ya missing out on give it a go, i reckon you'll enjoy yaself if ya dont then i'll eat my own hat

Absolute huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge respect to Ben Fisher, ta very muchly for putting GT on ya'v got probably the best night/club I've been to

keep up the good work and i'll keep turning out to support ya all the way

Well I got to say is thank fook its back, it was a fab night, saw some really old faces not seen in a while which was good the venue was mint, the crowd were mint...missed perkys set, got there just as the man like superdan was playing 2 mistakes, top tune, infact it was the best set of the night, full blown zone all over the place. one word=nectar i thought andy ps set was a bit predictable...ben was ben=old skool the back to back was good and when ride on time got played, the roof was raised missed the mash up due to taking a detour to elland b4 going to manc, ended up with a vicky pollard chav kicking of with 3 birds (obv suicidle )-so that put a downer on the night

top DJ of the night for me was: superdan
top tune of the night for me was: superdans set

cant wait for the next one...twas a really good night, dint see no attitude, no nobs, it wer just dead good

was mint to meet some ppl off here 2, elvis-you are a star (thanks for the dance-lol), dj bucky and miss bucky, you two are loverly-was a bit fuct by the time i met you and oldskoolkidder just turned 21, hope you had good night

so then mr fisher whens the next un?????

Just wanted to thank all the ppl for turning up that did ( was a good few osa'ers out which is always nice to see ) . . . . . was a really good night all in all i thought , a few problems at the start of the night which had me slightly stressed as i thought things were goin downhill fast and ya can do without it on ya first night back , lol , with the sound playin up in the first 30 mins and one deck also being fooked , so we had to run out to get another one sorted asap ( thanks to Gaz and foxy for sorting this out for me , u saved the night guys ) , also the fookin fire alarm goin off cos of the smoke machine . . lol . .
but
once we got all that aside , the night was really good and went smoothly and seemed to be enjoyed by all , was a nice amount of ppl in there come 12/1 o clock and the vibe was back to the Good old GT vibe of nights gone past , not a single dickhead in sight and no bother what so ever . . . all the djs were spot on , some cracking sets played . . . and also extra big thanks to superdan for steppin in and doin a 2 hour b2b with me , i really enjoyed it mate , and hats off to ya for ya first set ( the zone one ) . . you had the dancefloor full within first couple of tunee and the place pumpin . . . . . . .

Thanks again to everyone . . . . GT wouldnt be GT if it werent for you lot
