evolution - fri 17th march

Thanks to everyone that came to this, especially mart & shooms for coming up and was top to see jo (princesswarrior) and all the regulars as well

I wasn't on form at all, I'd had some bad news in the day and had really dodgy guts, which was a bit touch n go - almost rang butty to get someone else to do it, so sorry for not sticking around, was back home and in bed for 1am

Will be back on form hopefully for the next one!

How did the rest of the night go? Did hooky play more than 3 CD's ?

From what I heard, he'd pitched his first few tunes right up

Happy birthday to Dev C for next week, was top to see you again, sorry I missed your set Hopefully you'll be back on again soon...

I'll leave butty to announce who's on next month

Aye it was good. The first hour of Hooky was first class, playing tunes like Humanoid and stuff. His second half wasn't doing it for me as it was newer music. Then he played some off the wall oddball tunes like the Sex Pistols and a really pumped up strange and very fast version of Blue Monday and I could have sworn at one point he dropped Busted (or sommat similar anyway ) - however other people were enjoying it, just wasn't for me

@ Jammer - think he'd brought just the two with him this time and he wowed us by his "must have been mixing with his willy" at one point and yes he started with Rhythm Is A Mystery on about +35 but quickly pitched it down

Had an ace time. If u've not tried Evo yet - GO. Top tunes, top crowd. Looking forward to April....

Mart

thats exactly what I was going to say!!

Ive never seen a DJ mix in a club with no headfones and with his c*ck whilst doing what seemed like an aerobic workout! Still he entertained me even with his dubious choices of some tunes what a loon lol!

Got some top pics

Cheers Scott - Birthday isn't until this Monday though but will have a drink on you over the weekend I'm sure.
Hope you're feeling better mate, sorry you had to leave so early and miss the nights proceedings.

Hooky's headphone-less megamix was quite good at the start (albeit very fast) but some parts sounded like Jive Bunny had a hand in making his cd.
His last half hour went a bit pear shaped when he started playing stuff like the Sex Pistols and Blur to which most of the crowd seemed to be totally bewildered and came running up to the dj box asking for decent tunes!!
So when I suggested it may be time I went on (seeing as it was 2:15 and into my set time) he very politely told me to 'f**k off' and he'll 'play as long as he f*****g likes and I'll go on when he f*****g says I can' - what a charming well mannered man I thought ha ha!!

Anyway, when I eventually did make it on the crowd were still up for it big time and it was great to see such a good reaction to all my tunes!!
I was especially pleased to see such a top response to Basic Control - Trafic. Not really a true hacienda classic but a top acid tune from back in the day all the same.
And as I can't really play it at home as it scares the cats stupid it was top to hear it on that sound system!!

In true Evolution style it was a top night as always with the really friendly crowd well up for it and respect must go out to Recca, Butty and Quey for doing a such fantastic job on putting the night on.

Looking forward to playing there again soon, although will have to work on my dance moves if I want to keep up with Hooky!!

Dev.

oi! you know the drill...."c**k the f**k off"
and no thanks for pouring your bottle of water down the back of my top on the dancefloor you old goat. Bloody nuisance.

Have to agree with you there on the Love will tear us apart thing.. was in the top 3 track highlights for me, all tingly and a good old singalong
the two others that about sent me into orbit were Fast eddie - Can you dance & Sugar Bear- Dont scandalise mine
Had given up on the dancefloor by this point but it was still great to hear Ten City and Promised Land . Goosepimples

Great to meet a few more of you too! 'Twas a pleasure
