Best Dayz of your life - Wigan

Just got back from this event here are my views.

After setting off at bout 9:30ish on our merry way got to wigan about 10:15 ish, but then had to drive round wigan 4 times before we actually found the club.....lol. (i didn't help that the club is no longer called 51st state!!!)

Finally made and entered the building absolutely blinding venue, clean, very spacious and friendly atmosphere got some drinks and found a nice spot to start the nite off.

Butty was spinning some reeeeeeeeet nice tunage first off, playin beasts like....def la desh, sbam and twist!!!! Gwaaaaaaaaaaaan mate....loved every minute of it

The club itself was like rhythms in indigo with balconys over looking the dance floor and there was a nice sized second room playin some more great tunes by this point i was startin to get into it and few ppl were dancing....then ben got some vip passes to go up to the top floor where free champagne was on hand noice.

It started filling up bout 12ish and the dancefloor was rockin' the on came dream frequency........ oooooooooh yes absolutely fantastic!!!!....playin goodtimes, take me and you make me feel mighty real.

everyone was well up for it after this......we were just sat waiting for mr fishers set, then it arrived....playin some wicked piano tunes startin with, solid collective - can u feel it.....it well got the crowd goin!!! also ultrasonic got its usual reception.

All in all had a bloody good time well done to risky promotions....cheers for a top nite out

WE WENT TO THIS EVENT WE WERE THE HIGH VIZ KIDS ON THE BALCONY. WE ARRIVED AT 9.45 PM TO BE GREETED BY 'CHARLIE' BY THE PRODIGY AND THE TUNES NEVER LOOKED BACK.
NOTICED STRAIGHT OFF THAT THERE WAS A DEFINATE LACK OF PROPER OLDSKOOL RAVERS, ONE TOO MANY PISS HEADS FOR MY LIKING BUT IT DIDNT REALLY MATTER IN THE END.
BANGIN TUNES RIGHT UP TO WHEN DREAM FREQUENCY CAME ON STAGE WE WHERE BOTH DISAPOINTED BY THERE PERFORMANCE ,THE GIRL WHO SANG WAS CRAP SHE HAD A SHEET OF PAPER IN HER HAND, WHICH WERE OBVIOUSLY THE WORDS TO WAT SHE WAS DESPERATELY AND BADLY SINGING, THAT WAS WHEN SHE COULD BE HEARD OVER THE NUGGET ON THE DECKS AT THE BACK, VERY DISAPOINTING TO HOW I REMEMBER THEM PLAYING IN THE DROME,BOWLERS ECT.
AFTER DREAM FREAQUENCY FINISHED THE DJ PLAYED YET MORE TOP TUNES BACK TO BACK, WE HAD BOTH FORGOTTEN JUST HOW MANY TOP TUNES ARE OUT THERE , MAINLY LEFT ALONE BY THE DREADED BEER MONSTERS BAR ONE WHO THOUGHT IT WOULD BE HIGHLY AMUSING AND CHILDISH TO STARE CONSTANTLY AT US BOTH BUT AFTER A WHILE THE BEER GOT THE BETTER OF HIM AND HE DISAPPEARED AFTER THAT IT WAS TRULY ONE OF THE BEST SELECTIONS OF QUALITY OLDSKOOL THAT I HAVE EVER HEARD,OUR ENDORPHIN LEVELS REACHED A LEVEL NEVER IMAGINED, COULDNT EVEN FIT A FAG BREAK IN. 4 O'CLOCK SOON ARRIVED BUT OVER ALL THE NIGHT RATED AS ONE OF MY MOST MEMORABLE RAVING EXPERIENCES . HOPE THAT MORE EVENTS ARE PLANNED AND THAT MORE OF US TRUE OLDSKOOL FANS SHOW AN APPEARANCE. NICE ONE TO ALL INVOLVED WITH MAKING

Top gaff, loads of room for falling about (always good for me)

Tunes were spot on, only £2 for a barcardi n coke n all

Forgot most of it after Butty got his Vodka out tho probably for the best tho eh!

It was good to finally meet a few peeps from the forum and they were all really nice and down to earth

I met Nowthen, Miss saysay and Shorty before the event and we had a couple of drinks first before making our way inside. I didn't get off to the best start though, through testing my dancing gear in the afternoon and I felt tired by the time I got out, but after a while my legs started working and it turned into a good night, especially when Dream Frequency made their PA and started off with Euphoria and I finally got into the swing of things. I met a few more of the forum peeps inside who were also up for it, so it was a good night and i'll probably make the effort to go to more of these events now.

It was nice to see a few fit young women interested in my dancing skills too I've still got it (just) lol (unless they felt sorry for me )!

I felt really horny when I got home though, so I should probably have tried to pull on of them

Got into wigan at about half 9 and met up with Jiglo, went to a couple of pubs first before going onto 51st State, although it isn't called that anymore, lol..thank god jiggers was with us coz we would have been trying to find the place for ages.

The door staff were very friendly, which was nice, the place itself was nice and spacious, didnt venture upstairs so can't comment on the rest of the place. Met up with Lil'sonz, Vee (nice to finally meet you! ) , superdan, ben, princesswarrior and butty. Also met Beaker, nice meeting you too! Had a right good boogie all night, infact i only stopped dancing to go to the loo, lol! Also oldskoolfukwit, i remembered seeing you and your wife/girlfriend at hazys so thought id introduce meself- i was the girl in the green dress, if you can remember lol!! Top peeps.

Anyway, the tunes were top, all the sets were great but i esp enjoyed Slipmatts set and the guy after him, sorry didn't know who it was! Dream Frequency were alright, got a load of peeps dancing.

All in all i had a top nite and like lee said, the drinks were cheap, which was a surprise! ...its always a good'un if you find yourself not sitting down all night!!

Shorty - Cheers for coming, you looked like you had a belter!

Btw PW - Did you get any piccies of lee on the podium dancing around the pole!?

Crikey what a place to find!! after the magical mystery tour all around wigan four times we eventually stumbled upon what used to be 51st state, up a back alley

1st impressions of the place were freezing!! which soon changed once we had got the beers in an started to dance. Tune wise we were well impressed, particularly the 1st set & butty's next up dream frequency who werent at all how i remembered them to be in days gone by. ya cud hardly hear the lead singer, an clocking the paper she was reading from spoiled it a little imo.
bumped into jade an co. who i hadnt seen for ages which was brill an i was nice to meet even more of the osa 'massive' who were showin em all how its done on the dancefloor reespeck ! (Oohh aye and on the pole lolol)
'piano city' followed dream frequency which was jus... ace "can you feel it..." yes aye ,lol. (top set).
my mate an i only had a quick wander around (due to the stairs -shoes situation lol) there was a nice atmosphere upstairs in both rooms and no que at the bar Well in....
i was nicely hammered for the last few hours but remember tunes i aint heard 'out' for donkey's, an everyone were up an dancing around with big smiles which was top .

need to thank everyone involved for a brilliant night an laura for putting me to bed.. lol. bless ya.

I aint writing it again - but it was allllll good. Excellent nite, excellent venue, excellent tunage and fantastic people Some usual people and some new faces as well Hi again
