Evolution - 15/07/05

Big thanks to Mart for the lift down, and thanks for the chat as well, meant a lot that

Well, after a teething problem with sound system and engineer who was nice enough, but couldn't fix the bass feedback problem, and we eventually got started at 10.30 lol

Just to say, as I expected - we didn't have a big name on this time round, and the music spoke for itself, proving that its not about who is DJ'ing, but the music selection, orrr jear

Mart played an excellent set - must get an ID off you for that ace mix of Josephine - wow! you played some ace stuff, some of which I'd never heard before, so was buzzing off that

Was quite empty and didn't really fill up to part way through Mick's set, which again was quality, and you got them up and dancing with Rhythm Is A Mystery, all running to the dancefloor.

I Did the night straightheaded and played better for it, a couple of iffy mixes, but overall went well, and crowd were up for it, nice mixed crowd of young and old, as when Annie went on, I went out dancing with em lol - had a few coming over going "wow, you just DJ'd and you're out here dancing with us!" lol did me PR bit about next months Evo and had a top time listening to Annie's set, which got to say I thought was the set of the night, ace mixing, was top to hear Eon - Inner Mind - love that fucker and although we'd spoke about it, I was wrong, and Bizarre Inc - Playing With Knives went down a storm, probably got the best reaction all night.

Nice to see some of the regular OSA'ers out, and to meet Manc - top to meet you mate and surprise appearance from Marchwiel, not seen you for ages Matt

Nice to see easty out, and thanks for lending me the New Order tune (forget name now) - it's in my bag safe, as you'd gone by end of the night.

I did play it, and what an ace track it is

Was a few turned up from my work, so quite glad I wasn't lol

Atmosphere amazing again, and I can't wait for next month...

Special Guest - Peter Hook (New Order as if you didn't know!) Saturday, 13th August

Thanks to Quey for hospitality later on, and was top to see Tez (Bigtruck) enjoying himself

Top night out , just a pity I had to be in work so early this morning so I had to go early.

Cheers to Mart for the lift and congrats to all the DJs some top tunes played by all (Sugar Bear being the best obviously - even if I did have to threaten extreme violence to get it put on ).

Got there a bit late as i was running out petrol and then decided to give everyone a tour of the roundabout at burtonwood 3 times loved all the sets I heard and shouts go out to Mart, Mick and Scott. The dancefloor went crazy when LFO got played. Loved hearing Can U dance and Hip Hop Be Bop too. Loved djing there too - you can see everyone in the crowd so you can buzz off people when they are reacting to tunes.

Scott - thanks for the admission over playing with knives I was laughing when i pulled it out cause its not my normal thing to play and I could have got disowned ... (Derrick will never forgive me ).

Nice one to everyone that came... especially the scouse crew... your support is as ever appreciated.

PS mick - nice one for the dig it tune - i was buzzing to hear it - cant wait to have another boogie to it

oh i remember that arse, her and a girl called Jade if i remember right (i was fucked), proper nutters, proper ravers

Anyway. Scott a pleasure to meet you mate, when i introduced you to my mate we both looked at each other "he was an alright lad wasnt he!?" heh heh, you played a top set as well and the club night your runnin is one of the best nights out ive had in ages.... And Recca, nice to meet you as well mate should be out at timeless on fri, i'll come over and say hello

2 pills, £1.50 each but i was on the floor all night 1988 style had a top buzz, quite a few gorton lads in there ive not seen in ages which made things even better (all back 2 mine after 4 a party, i played more of an hippo's set tho 4 the gorton crew ), but everyone in the club was top!!

Ive not got many mixtapes left from back then so plenty of tunes got played that i ain't heard in years which is always a pleasure...

can't wait for the next one. 10/10

Funny that as a girl came up and asked me for it, as I was just about to play it lol

She wouldn't believe me when I said "its on next" thinking I was fobbing her off haha!
