Goodtimes Comes To Wakefield!!!

Where do i start???Set off at 10:30ish ont'h coach got there about 11ish....first on was eddy osborne but got there too late to here most of hi set..... and missed jill sanders!!! (eddy you twat!....lol)

the club was pretty packed and the dancefloor was rammed, ya couldn't move!

Up next on the dex was Paul H....who played a nice set consistin of bouncy oldskool leadin into a bit of zone at the end...TOP MARKS!!!

Then decided to check out the downstairs room where ste huxley was beltin out some reeeeeeeet funky house tunes....he got the dancefloor rockin...!!

Then it was back upstairs to catch some of the kitcher borthers set who as always were on top form and playin some mint tunage these guys are good.

Then was probably the best set of the nite for me from Dj Haighy where every tune just got better and better...it was his last set fer a while as he is travellin round the globe for a bit...good luck to ya fella

by this time the main room/dancefloor was well full....ya were like sardines in a tin....lol.

At this time it was time for Bens set which got the crowd well up for it...wit loadsa bouncey...massive piano tunes!!!Well enjoyed it

And hats off to the MC tagteam duo....Maddox and the awesome MC Lou!!! you guys rocked, and loved the vocals by Lou...especially the everday lyrics she was singin....that were foooooookin mint!!!

Reet thats the djs covered so on to the overall nite itself...apart from the 1 bit of trouble caused by some idiot!!! but to be fair was dealt wit very quickly by the bouncers!...it was a good atmosphere but at the same time some what a bit dodgey, but i suppose that was just the findin of the feet in a club.... but all round was a good and succesful nite enjoyed by all!!!

Well done to the GT promoters....nice one lads!!!

It then got to 4 o'clock and it was time to gor for the coach for the journey home back to sunny huddersfield.

Got to the point where we were supposed to meet the coach but only 4 ppl turned up at 4 o'clock....and to top it all off the fukin caoch never turned up... NOB HEADS!!! so the 7 of us there had to get a 7 seater taxi back!!!....dont know what happened to the rest of the coach possy???

Thanks to a very large turn out from the oldskool anthems lot who turned out in mass numbers!!!

And got vickles to come back to the mash up which is still on goin.....lol...ha ha vick told ya you'd be comin back...te he he, hope the map i drew ya got ya home safely...

So all in all was a good night but it wasn't as good as the rhythms nites....will well miss that place... but new pastures n that!!!!

SO BIG UPTO GOODTIMES!!!...and lets just see what the future brings....but i will deffo follow!!!!

Thanks to Mart for driving, and persuading me (along with sweet & pauly) to go, as I'd had a crap week of it and wasn't gonna go.

Good to see lots of OSA'ers out

Was nice to meet Mayon, as was meant to meet ya at the night in Manc, but didn't go in the end! Come to Hazy, you'll love it

Caught most of Ste's set, but couldn't work out why he was on downstairs, as I thought he should have been on with the better sound system.

Anyway, some of what you played Ste I was enjoying, one mashup of an old Todd Terry track, was smashing, until a really repetitive vocal came in and spoiled it LOL.

Was a weird atmosphere in there, and tbh, it really put me off, as walking around checking it out, there was a lot of attitude in there

Glad the bouncers managed to stop things before it went too far..

One thing, the price of drinks

£3.50 for a WKD, and £2.20 for water, erm bit on the pricey side like, you'd need to take out a mortgage to drink there lol

Ben Fisher.... Once again I have to tell you.... I am prouder than a proud thing over just how you have conducted yourself over this whole latest chapter for GT.... Nuff Respect Ben..... You deserve it!

Yeah I do agree that there was a few bad grimm whoooopa's in there, but they were ironed out and removed just as soon as it arose!!

It was at first very very starnge being a brand new venue, but when all the familar GT faces started to appear loud and large it didnt take long for GT's normal service to resume....

Quality sets from all of you! Be proud and to our Kid Mr. Maddox and MC Lou... You guys together make me smile so much! Sheer quality and made my ears smile as well!

All of you that came... you guys are the dogs nads and those of you that could not make it... You was missed so very much!

had a mint weekend

pretty plastered before we got into the club after having umteen double vodka red bulls in spoons, then meeting up with tigger etc for a couple of bevvies ..... but once in there headed straight for the bottom room which tbh i prefer due to its intimacy etc ...... glad to see ste getting the crowd going as per usual

ducked and dived about for most of the night in between takin a shite load of photos and catching up with some of the faces that i aint seen in a while ..... tall paul and dannster, its been a while mates

Was a bit wary of the venue at first, to many arse holes for my likin, but as the night progressed, the place filled with friendly faces and it seemed almost sureal. Was havin a top night until all the shit happened. was all quickly sorted out but unfortunatly was too late for us to salvage the night, an Craig had had enough (understandably). Massive thanks to Retro, Mad Matty, Debbie, and everyone that lent a hand. I sometimes wonder weather my chilled out polite, lets avoid trouble bullshit mannerisioms are worth while or weather its time to make an example of these wa*kers. Only time will tell.
Anyway.... shit hot tunage and a nice atmostphere (for most of the night anyway). Well done to ben and everyone involved!!!

What a night

Good venue, loadsa mad stairways that brought you out somewhere diffo each time

Pretty shady atmosphere for part of the night, but when the kick off happend the bouncers dealt with it sharpish full ov a few reet wrong uns in there but normality resumed with the smiley faces of the OSA/GT crew

Bit pricey on the drinks front, i think shabba nearly had a heart attack when she orderd a double vodka n red bull..........£8!!!! £2.30 for a bottle of water, a bit tooooo much glass in there for my liking

All sets where excellent, ste h, ben, some class tunes there

I personally know the venue ad i aint seen it that packed before. It got way too warm at times but was bareable.

Pity about the trouble but your gonna get nobs like that no matter where you go. I have to commend the bouncers though, they were fantastic from actually catching the lad and his mates involved and throwing them out to continually cheking that there still wasnt some of the gang left still wanting to cause trouble.

A few things i personally didnt like about the place though was the drinks prices, the fact that there was no water in the toilets so not only could ya not get a drink but we struggled to clean craig up until we went behind the bar. Think thats needs sorting ben. Am sure there is some law about free water available.

Some great sets but to be honest i didnt actually catch any of them in full due to other factors lol

Even had some of my non osa mates join me laters and they were all having a top night too.

Was fantastic to see you lot round here and was pleasantly suprised by the OSA attendance

Hope the little niggles can be sorted out cause you have the making of a great night there.

Sorry i didnt stay around had some shit to deal with and after that couldnt really be arsed in there so apologies for not saying bye to you all.

A bit shit to hear about the coach too but glad i could help Dan. You were lucky i was still awake mate or i wouldnt have heard the phone lol.

Was good to meet Mayon who i hadnt met before and see all the usual suspects including birthday girl vickles (cant believe you went to mash up lol)

Due to getting food poisend on friday night and continuly being sick/shitting myself all day saturday I wasnt feeling too good saturday night. Anyway got there at 10.00 to play the first set and I really liked the system and the lights/lasers are really good. 10.30 and the place was getting really busy,really enjoyed it.Walked down the stairs later on for the first time and thought 'ey up the tunes are good down here' only to see ste on the decks, stayed there for the rest of the set,really liked some of them tunes and congratulations on the residencey ste , i like the feeling downstairs as its good for chilling if your not up for the ravin upstairs. Saw loads of my mates too who i hadnt seen for a few years. Nice one to ben and mik, quality lads!

Back to the mash up LOL Had such a laugh and the bath sessions were absolutly mint, think there was one point when there was me,ben and dannster and id thought id lost my sanity my feet were that hot,absolute quality lol and i wont forget this weekend for a long time

Had a mint night , once i got me self settled in , my only complaint were the drink prices n no water in the toliets , reminded me of the good ole life days .

Sets of the night for me were ste h (played some frikkin ace tuna) + mr fisher (again played some frikkin ace tuna) . And maddox n lou -- ACE

Really like the 2nd room , n looking forward to playing there me self in april

Well what a wkd . . .

Were do i start on this one then . . . . . reet ill start by saying BIG THANKS to all that turned up to show your continued support for Goodtimes @ our new venue launch night , which was never gonna be an easy night to pull off what with movin to a new town and a club that was not known for being the busiest of venues etc , ( spec after the contiunued success wed ad at the old setup / venue that we had to leave behind in Huddersfield at the beggingin of the year ) . . . Was the most nervous ive been in a long time come sat night with , and yeah there was a few "hiccups" along the way in and around ( but thankfully these didnt mar the night on a whole as it was dealt with in a speedy and correct way by the bouncers imo) didnt really get to see much of the night myself what with workin on the door etc , then avin to play the last 2 and half hours . . . but from what i did see/hear it was all good , and the 2nd room was a nice success as well , as was a bit undecided on to how it would go playin that sort of music along side our normal style , was lovin it wen i popped down , and ave to say MR STE HUXLEY !!! well well well !! that had to be for me one of the best sets ive erd from you in a long time . could see you were lovin the opportunity to play out stuff yo dont normally get to For those that dont know already Ste will now be one of the new residents as from our May event as i loved the set that much !! as did everyone else as you had the floor well goin early on wen i popped down . . .also Big thanks to the wonderfull resident MCs . . . MC LOU !! and MC MADDOX , you two guys rocked !!! and went down extremly well with the new crowd looking forward many more Goodtimes with you guys in the future . . . . . .

Was well happy with the night overall and it was a huge success in many ways , and did us well to start off there and put us in good stead for next month , hopefully the few probs can be ironed out along the way thro out the next few nights

Can safly say im well lookin forward to the times ahead at this new venue , now i finally have the 1st night out of the way and summat to improve on try make better for you guys . .

the mash up was a CRAZY one to say the least only had a few hours kip since fri . . lol thanks to all who came ( and to those still ere . lol ) would love to write more but my head hurts . . lol so thats enoug for now . . lol

I had a great night! Got there at 10:45, went straight downstairs and then ended up staying down there until about 3:00 lol. The music was great (Ste and Paul H )) and so was the room. I would definitely go again, just for the funky house room - a brill idea! When I got upstairs the only person I caught was Ben Fisher. I expected the music not to be my cup of tea but I thought it was absolutely fab and a brill end to the night.

It was lovely to meet some new people: Cano, Smiley Nics, Ben (Cano's friend), Mad Matty, Lozzie. Also a massive thanks to Danny the tour guide for all your help, S-J for remembering my birthday, the Doc for everything and Shabba for just generally being you lol! Hey hey to everyone else I saw too!
