Vision Classics Birthday Bash 13/11/04

At Dry Bar..

Well, what a fookin fantastic night that was.

Got to say a MASSIVE THANK YOU to butty and recca for what has to be the best set I've heard you two play, you both complimented each other, the mixing was shit hot, and the tunes were amazing, recca big big respect for 'dirtying it up' with that wonderful acid classic 'Stakker - Humanoid' really enjoyed your set, and didn't want you guys to finish!!!!

Thanks for the liftage down as well recca

Talking to the buttmeister about this night, I was dreading Ratpack, as you all know what I think about MC's LOL

But have to say, Ratpack tore the roof off the place, and the main dude (big fella still in his pijama's lol) wasn't really MC'ing, he was singing, and it was dead dead good, cos err like he was in tune, and didn't interfere with the best bits of the tunes (take note MC Lou, and Master/Mister C or whatever your name is lol the '10 year old sqeaky MC') as later on, I was miffed that MC Lou was talking over the piano breakdown of Liquid - Sweet Harmony, which is like the best bit in it - why why why?

Anyway, Ratpack DJ's and co played some classic breaks/early jungle (or drum and bass if you wanna call it that) stuff, and was good to hear all that again, hadn't heard a lot of what they played since about 92/93

He really got the crowd going, and made me laugh me head off a few times with his "oye oyeeeeeeeeee" there was also some really fit girl on stage that kept winking at me, and all I could do was stand there laughing

Didn't really dig Cameron's set, thought he was a bit up himself with the way he grabbed the mic, and was bigging himself up, blatantly, bit of an arse LOL

Left about 2:30, as it was starting to get very Very VERY moody in there sure they put a sign up at midnight "all the dicks who wanna kick off, come in now" lol

Overall great night, and thankfully they'd sorted the sound system out, was nice and pumping in there

Also hello to Claire B and Vikki (nob) - aka 'Zebragirl' hehe

Thanks for the liftage woody, and for helping me make me mind up about going, and the top chat back at yours, Jear

Ratpack were amazing tho had the crowd rocking with their usual 13 tune complilation
good to see claireb ( briefly) zebra girl easty and honey making appearances too

top nite, till i left shortly after ratpack, coz it was getting far to sketchy by then. good to see the speakers had been sorted, keep up the good work, but keep the dick heads out.

Shit a brick, I forgot about you two easty and honey Sorry!

My mind wasn't on the right planet when I typed the review, that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

Was good to finally meet you easty, having missed you at the hazy all nighter (how the fuck did that happen?! lol) and you were right about that point about the MC's I have to concede there

Honey, no way about being kicked a few times that's well out of order that, deary me.

I did notice a really gormless looking guy giving you a bit of attention and you walked over to the corner, turned round and gave him the finger that made me giggle lots. But really sorry you had to put up with all that shit, I had no idea that went on

If it happens again, come tell some of us lot, and we'll put of an OSA forcefield round you Jear

Hope to see ya's all down at Timeless this Friday !!

this was the poorest set I have ever heard of absolutely anybody. He did not get one mix right. He kept stopping the tunes, getting mc lou to sing then starting a new tune off. He then got on the mic and instead of apologising he said that he did'nt care that he could,nt mix as he was of his head.
now everyone makes mistakes, me more than anyone, but at least I try and put all the effort i can into my sets. Plus if i do have a bad one then I feel devestated and that I have let our crowd done.
How he can justify charging over a tenner for people to listen to a set like that is a disgrace and |I would like to hear his opinion on the matter, this is not a personal attack on cameron btw

Right I have had a think about the above post by mtself and i think that I was being a little bit too judgemental. I am not dissapointed at how bad the set was, I was just p1ssed at the fact that he did'nt seem to care about what he was doing and if you don't care then whats the point????????????????????????????????????????????? ????????????????????????

good point fella . . and one that does my nut in also ,

i see TOO many djs nowadays that are there obviously for themselfs and there egos . . and not for the crowd ( this is not aimed at anyone just in general like ) . . . . . and thats wrong . . djs SHOULD put every effort into every single set they play . . . as ppl pay there hard earned money to come to such nights . . . . . .
