well ive been into oldskool since i was a nipper - born in 86 so grew up in the 90's, used to wake up most wekeends on sunday morning and think what are all these people doing in my house with the tunes on at this time ha ha ha... well me maa used to go bowlers so that explained that!.. not a normal house i must say but quality all the same! as it introduced me to oldskool! and piano house! and all the Life tapes that i used to nick off me mum back in the day! used to cain those Life tapes 24/7! and still do haha... but hearing sets from the likes of Welly, Bowa, Nipper, Stu Allan, Rick Jones, etc made me want to maybe own the tunes i was hearing one day! I first messed on the decks in 96 - 97 without having the foggiest of idea wot to do! & finally got my own pair of dex on my 19th bday some 7 years later! Since then ive been adding to the collection already in place by starting my own collection, been buying records ever since really! Started playing at a local bar in Hebden Bridge every Fri & Sat for a good year, and guesting locally at diff nights up and down. Had the experience of promoting my own night in this time which was a good learning experience, ran "LOVED UP" for a good 6 months before the night got pulled and the venue shutdown, its now a trendy little bar now, but had some good stomps in there over the years infront of and behind the decks! haha... Obtained some valuable experience there though which has helped me progress to play bigger venues for nights such as Back By Dope Demand, HOUSED UP & Cheeky! Anyhow im still collecting tunes and still as passionate about oldskool as ever!
