As requested by butty earlier, i come to introduce myself!!!!!! god this is really hard but here goes

As you know my name is Claire im from Winsford Cheshire im 27, my interest in old skool started years ago 1992 i think, i used to go to Smiths in Warrington every thursday night, then it was The Buzz in Liverpool, a friend introduced to Bowlers in early 1995, i started going every week after that as well as the odd saturdays to Maximes for back to the old skool nights!!! i stopped going in about 1999 when it went shit, i didnt mind the Complusion nights but it just got a bit much, ive only started to get back into it at the beginning of the year(i found some old Bowlers tapes) so now im on a mission to find as many of those tunes as i can!!!

Ive got to say the site is really good its nice to know there is still other people out there that are still into it like me and that actually went to the same clubs as i did, everyone is really friendly and helpful, and the old skool night at Courtneys has deffo caught my eye so can anyone give me a bit of an idea of what its like in there!!!! I wouldnt mind trying Maximes again and your earlier thread about it not being dodgy anyone is worth a go, anyway i think ive gone on a bit, so thank you to everybody who has helped me and i wouldnt mind knowing a bit about every one else(if you dont mind)

If you want a good Old Skool night sometime look no further than Goodtimes or a GT night at the Corn Mill - can't be beat!

Tiggers right about GT, and I aev it on good authority that Courtneys is a top night to so 'ill be givin' that a go myself soon.

Welcome to the board... I to used to frequent Bowlers, Maximes, Wigan Pier and a few others. Used to live in a dire hole called Astley... sorta on the border of Salford and Wigan. I used to live about 2 miles away from the Groovy Gradster or Grabbits as he's been known (remember that grad? )

i used to go to smiths sometimes on a thursday night, can't remember a lot about it though

a bit about myself erm im 23 live in swinton run this shagbang (with the help of my trustee mod crew of course) and i try and play records that i like and make people dance - apart from that i like the usual running/cycling/shagging/going to the gym/weightlifting etc etc *cue the lafter from fug n co!!*

nah really im a skinny scallie mash head who got out of scalliville just in time and so was brought back from the brink lol

i prolly seen ya at maximes aroun 98/99 coz i went every month for about 2 years. i stopped going coz there was a lot of ruckus there and i think a lot of people did but from what ive heard theyve done an awful lot to sort the trouble out and so were going next week (also because im playing so i havent got much choice!! lol) - hope 2 see u there or come down to courtneys one weekend im on there every friday and saturday and this week rick is playing with me (oo err) both nights - saturday in general is usually busier than friday although both nights its got a large mad for it crew in there and there aint no attitude which is a change for a place in manchester city center!! (the bouncers n the management the past few weeks have done a wonderful job - i just keep at them to make sure the nobs dont penetrate the mainframe)

let us know if your going to a night im on at soon n il even bring ya a cd - n if ur a good girl il even buy ya a drink

Just realised I have made over 100 posts and never really introduced myself on here either, I am one of what seems to be a growing number of folk from the forum on anthems.com who are fed up of reading posts about dutch trance artists...

Would love to say I went to loads of these legendary northern clubs but I am a midlander I'm afraid (bit of a rareity around these parts) but I used to get the old sasha tapes off me mates at school when I was a nipper (most of em gone astray since then but Al sorted me out there!)

ps i see on one of ur other threads in tune id's u say rick jones is 1 of ur fave dj's - well when u come see me chuk ul have a new fave 1, dont bother with that rj dood hes way past it i had 2 wheel him up 2 the decks last week and change his cholestomey bag half way thru his set!!

n that coupled with his insanity being questioned when he takes the needle off the tune thats playing (lol remember that rick!! thought it was only me who did things like that)

lol only messin rj's in my view the best old skool dj in the country tune/mixin wise he cant b matched n i aint sayin that coz i want extra pocket money this week

thanks to everyone else who has replied ive probably seen most of you somewhere especially bowlers, only if you stood right at the back though, i used to stand near some friends i made there callled the three strip crew i wonder whats happened to them now!!!!!!

aye im 23 honest (altho i only look 17 beat that for a bizzare twist) i missed the tunes when they were out i was into kylie n jason at the time lol but i got into it when i went to maximes late 98 - after my first visit i started this site and the rest is as they say is history.........

glad i did find it tho or id prolly b listenin 2 ian van dahl still
