sky+hd free box and installation

skys buggered we have water leaking down the inside of the wire and sky wont play ball saying its out of warranty, they say its £65 for an egineers visit plus any extra installation costs, so i had been thinking of getting the sky hd offer which i think knocks the installation down to £30 with free box, as long as you subscribe to the hd pack and a hd movie pack. anyway whilst mulling it over a lad at work gave me a voucher (he had about 6 for having it installed himself) the voucher gives you the hd+ box free, and installation free and you only have to sign up to the hd pack @ £9.75 per month ontop of what you already pay. sounds a good deal to me getting mine in wednesday. if your thinking of it find a m8 who has already got sky hd, and they should have been given vouchers through the post

weve just had sky + fitted this afternoon in the bedroom. installation was £30 , free box and for multiroom lite it was only £4 a month extra

thats sound for multiroom chris i added that and it was nearly a tenner a month extra the hd boxes are the plus ones, ive only ever had the normal sky box, not sure if i will record anything, ive not even had the video recorder plugged to the telly for at least 5yr, but i bet its good beeing able to pause live tv though.

I had a starview box given to me last week because i only have freeview on my virgin connection.. Its picks up everything, even had the boxing on lastnight.. A mate of mine has the hd version. Think it was £100 or so.. Well reccomended

am i right in guessing you need cable for the virgin and the star view boxes ?

No mate i think the Eurovox box's (same thing) work with a sky connection.. Can someone confirm

theres a new starview HD combo spesh one that does a bit of both sat and cable ...

not sure it covers all the ppv sky stuff though, havent really read into it cos ive not got sat. Looks good though, just need Virgin to sort their heads out with the HD channels..

ahh not sure if or when cables coming here got the sky hd booked now getting fitted wednesday. but since i have ordered it, our sky connection has sprung back into life still cant be good though water coming down my wire, so im glad its getting done, im looking forward to seeing some of the discovery HD stuff i think its a rip off having to pay for HD though but i cant complain when the box and fittings gonna be free and can always unsubscribe after a year. saying that i prob wont thats how they make so much money, i only got sky fitted because i had a poor picture and the cost of getting freeview dish or a decent ariel ended up cheaper to have sky fit thinking after the year i would cancel it and just get the free view stuff, still paying 3 years later and now gonna be forking out more lol
