Is it illegal?

I know that may sound a weird question but i've discussed it before somewhere, and for some reason it came up again recently, and I still dont know the answer.

As in: say you kill someone then eat them, the killing part would get you done for murder, but what about the cannibalism part? Is that bit actually against the law?


or if you have an 'Alive' film scenario going on, but eventually get rescued... do you get charged afterwards for scoffing the victims if they were already dead anyway? or just get let off scot-free in a 'ahh well, there was nothing else you could do' manner?
(That probably would be the final insult to the relatives of the dead peeps you'd earlier scoffed..) lol

lol i really wouldnt know but if you kill to feast then yep its illeagal id say but if it was a matter of survival or life or death then id say that be acceptable in the eyes of the law (not that id fancy feasting on me neighbour) lol

yeah but like i said you'd get put away for murder, but what the hell could they charge you with for the eating part? , theres no such thing as a cannibalism charge is there?
desecration of a corpse maybe? i dunno, just baffles me and im nosey lol

I reckon...if the person killed themselves...not anywhere near you, and left u them to eat in their will and u did...it'd be a very daring case for any lawyer!

I reckon it would be against the law...im only speculating of course. But I really wanna leave my body to science etc...instead of being pointlessly buried under ground (bleugh!) and even that has alot of red tape involved...a dead body is a serious matter of confusion (no one owns it, and to be given it is hard)

Both moraly and ethicaly even tho there were still tribes in new guiney who resroted to cannabalism in the 1960s and early 70s.

cannabalism in any form is against civilized human nature, ergo in a civilzed court room a jury would take said act of canabalism as barbaric. The general concensous is that of horror and butchery and in the case it was tagged with 1st degree murder would almost certainly add time to the plaintifs time in custody. For instance if you kill and butcher someones body afterwards the prosecution will be angle for a 1st degree charge, but the actions carried out after the victims death are also taken into consideration with the final verdict, if you eat them well thats throwing more fuel on the fire and pretty much tightening your own noose hehe.

Im guessing that if you got caught eating human remains there will almost certianly be charges brought against you the severety of which i have no clue but if i ever get caught i will write a journal

Marinated Leg of Person

1 leg, about 3 kilos
6 cups dry cider
1 kilo carrots, sliced thinly
8 medium onions, sliced thinly
16 juniper berries
8 leaves sage, chopped
1/2 cup butter
2 whole nutmegs, grated
salt and pepper to taste

Combine half each of the cider, nutmeg and sage with 2 of the onions, the juniper berries and salt and pepper to taste. Cut the leg into slices about 1 cm. thick and over these pour the marinade. Refrigerate, covered, for 36 - 48 hours, turning the meat occasionally.

Remove the meat from the marinade and dry with toweling. Strain the marinade and to this add the remaining cider.

In a large flameproof casserole melt the butter and, over a high flame, brown the meat slices on both sides. Remove the slices, lower the flame and add the remaining onions and the carrots, cooking until the onions are softened. Pour in the marinade and bring to a boil. Add the remaining seasonings, replace the venison, cover and place in a medium oven for 1 1/2 hours. Serve hot directly from the casserole. Serves 6 - 8.


Person Stew

1 shoulder of person, about 2 1/2 kilo), dressed and cut into serving pieces
1 bottle dry red wine
1 cup olive oil
1/2 cup red wine vinegar
6 Tbsp. each bacon fat and flour
2 large onions, chopped coarsely
1 large carrot, chopped coarsely
3 stalks celery, chopped coarsely
3 cloves garlic, chopped finely
6 shallots, chopped coarsely
12 juniper berries
12 whole peppercorns
2 whole cloves
2 bay leaves, crushed
2 Tbsp. parsley, chopped
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. each thyme, oregano, basil and rosemary
salt, black pepper and cayenne pepper to taste

In a saucepan combine the wine, wine vinegar, olive oil, onions, carrot, shallots, celery, garlic, cloves and all of the herbs and spices. Bring just to a boil, immediately lower the flame and simmer for about 10 - 12 minutes. Remove from the flame and let cool for 1/2 hour.

Put the cup-up shoulder and giblets in a ceramic bowl and pour over the marinade. Marinate, covered, in the refrigerator for 2 - 3 days, turning the meat several times each day.

Remove the meat from the marinade and dry on toweling. Strain and reserve the marinade.

Sprinkle the meat with salt, pepper and cayenne pepper to taste. In a skillet melt the bacon fat and in this brown the meat, slowly on all sides. Sprinkle over with flour, stir and continue to saute until the flour is absorbed and turns light brown. Add the strained marinade and simmer, covered until the meat is tender (45 - 60 minutes). Correct the seasoning, simmer for 5 minutes longer and serve hot. Serves 6.

I need to watch Season 1 of the Sopranos again, but wasn't there an implied cannibalism angle there? Them dismembering and disposing of corpses in the back of Satriales "pork store"... oink oink... Twas a few years ago so maybe I've got that wrong, but I remember thinking it at the time.

Remember this happening in Germany a couple of years ago & the question was raised as to whether cannibalism was, in itself, illegal...

BERLIN (Reuters) - German police are watching home videos made by a sex cannibal who apparently shared a last meal of flambeed penis with his willing victim before carving him up and freezing the man's remaining body parts to eat later.

Prosecutors in Kassel said on Thursday that the 41-year-old homosexual, who has confessed, was not being treated as insane.

Germany's more sensational newspapers were packed with lurid details. Police arrested the man after he posted an Internet advert seeking another male volunteer to satisfy his appetites.

"We're watching the videotapes and searching his house. There are several tapes," said a spokesman for police combing the suspect's elegant half-timbered home in the picturesque town of Rotenburg-an-der-Fulda, near Kassel, on Thursday.

They had already found deep-frozen human flesh and bones as well as video recordings of the exceptionally bizarre crime.

Prosecutors, who first announced the murder investigation on Wednesday, have named neither the victim nor suspect. But German media have quoted investigators identifying the dead man as "Bernd Juergen B." and the alleged killer as "Armin M.."

"He's in normal custody at the moment. He is regarded as capable of standing trial," Kassel prosecutor Hans-Manfred Jung said.

Amending some details first given on Wednesday, prosecutors said the accused was 41 and the victim a 42-year-old man from Berlin. They believe the killing dates back to March last year.

Both men were computer technicians, German newspapers said.

"The deed appears to stem from cannibalistic and homosexual tendencies shared by both men," police said on Wednesday in a statement so grisly in its detail that the nation's biggest selling newspaper, Bild, reprinted it word for word.


"DESPERATELY SEEKING VICTIM"

"The accused supposedly first cut off the penis of the victim by mutual agreement because they wanted to eat it together," the statement continued.

Police declined comment on reports that they first flambeed the organ in spirits, then, after tasting it, decided to fry it.

The suspect then killed his companion with deep cuts to the neck and chopped the body into pieces which he froze and later ate, prosecutors said.

Bild's giant front page headline ran: "Cannibal Devours Berliner." To Germans, a Berliner is also a jam doughnut.

The dead man apparently replied to an advertisement posted on the Internet, prosecutors said. One newspaper said it read: "Seeking young, well-built 18- to 30-year-old for slaughter."

The killing revives memories of previous cases of cannibalism, both fictional and real, such as Hannibal Lecter, the serial murderer created by author Thomas Harris.

Real-life American killer Jeffrey Dahmer was sentenced to several life terms for the murders of 17 young men and boys in a 13-year, necrophilous rampage of dismemberment and cannibalism. Dahmer was killed in prison in November 1994.

It is Germany's second headline-grabbing murder case this year after a young couple were jailed in January for killing a friend and stabbing him 66 times in a Satanic ritual.

That trial fascinated Germany and Britain, where one of the killers first developed her obsession, and gave the tabloids a field day with details of blood-sucking and devil worship.
