Its one of my (many) pet hates that, things all year round. I would never eat a hot cross bun unless its Easter, nor a mince pie in march.

I really love the seasons of this country. Although i like winter i am now ready fro spring etc. By the time summer is over i have had enough and look forward to the beauty of autumn. The same with food, i like it to represent the time of year. Like a culinary calender

lol that was quite ironic

Donkeys are associated with hot cross buns & Christianity as JC rode into Jerusalem on a donkey on Palm Sunday (I think they just called it 'Sunday' then) & thereafter the donkey was blessed with the sign of the cross on it's back... although why as this was before the crucifixion is beyond me.... but there ya go

The egg is supposed to symbolise the stone been rolled away from the front of the tomb.

Before the chocolate companies decided they could make loads of money out of us all selling thin chocolate at 3 times the price of the same chocolate in bar form. . . .people used to hard boil eggs and paint them and then roll them down hills. . . In fact i can remember doing this as a child and I'm sure some people still do.

Now you get a shitty egg advertising Shrek 85 or something?

I did! we used to do it at infants school-decorate a hard boiled egg & we used to have an easter bonnet parade too-where we had to make our own hats and walk around holding our decorated eggs and the teachers would vote for the best ones
