Its really interesting to here you guys talk about the picture quailty though we bought the gold leads on some channels the picture is perfect then say on eastenders on bbc 1 it can look washed out comapred to the old tv.

On the whole very happy spot on sound quality

Good stuff wayne

I know the monster Samsung tv that Ash has is fooking amazing quality and they're reckoned to be amongst the best tv's, so would have gone for one myself if I thought i'd use it much lol

gotta admit i was a little dissapointed in the picture at 1st, bought a £50 scart cos my sister has just bought a 42" samsung 1080p and on sky some of the pictures were very poor, and cos id gone for a higher spec tv and a tad smaller screen, i was expecting it to be much better, and it wasn't noticable, some of the sky channels were very sketchy when i put the ps3 on, via an hdmi cable, it stopped me in my tracks it looks so clear and sharp i was amazed at the picture quality even the wii looks ace on it, and had east is east on earlier and that was crystal so im begining to realise its nothing to do with the tvs that some channels look worse than on the old telly, it must be to do with what resolution the tv program is recorded in. im currently playing on a demo of virtua tennis 3 which is in the 1080p format and its amazing the graphics and the game play is supberb not gonna take the plunge for hd box just yet, but my mate at work has just ordered a hd, sattalite reciver, that you can watch the free hd channels on (only bbc1 and c4 at the mo i think) without any monthly fee but like my sister has found out if your not gonna get hd, or bother with an hd of bluray dvd player or games console, its questionable as to wether its worth getting an hd tv when the picture might actually be worse than your old tv and tbh i dont watch that much telly to warrent paying a monthley subsciption but no doubt in time now this freeview hd sattalite is out and more channels hd channels become available the compitition will hot up and prices will fall might join an online dvd rental though and rent a few bluray films for now

nearly got ripped off though, lol, got my telly home and built the stand and set the tv up, and it was about 1/2 hour after rigging it all up, that i had a flash back of the model number sticker on the back from when i plugged the wires in they had given me the wrong tv checked it on the web and it was about £300 cheaper than the 1 id paid for good job i checked, had to take it back and get it swapped for the correct one

Right.... is there much of a difference between full HD & HD Ready on a screen about 32" (Bedroom use) ?

I know this explains the difference but this looks like there'll be a big fuckoff difference...

Also looking to get a full HD projector

Why am I such a audio / visual perfectionist ?

Also any recommendations for a 30" approx full HD

I've got this at the mo

Epson TW10 home theatre projector

& just beam it up onto a white wall (me lounge colour scheme was white walls on pupose ) It's not ceiling mounted but on a coffee table in the middle of the lounge (which is an arse).

I want it ceiling mounted to free up space but need a man who can coz I'm a liability with power tools...

Yeah mounting it will be a pain in the stones.
Worth it though...

I never had you down as an advocate of all this clean-lined modern open-plan living Shooms... Figured you'd be much too heterosexual for all that (Beeny/Allsopp notwithstanding). Just shows (literally) how 'wrong' you can be. Is Pompey the new Brighton, I wonder...

Bought my Pioneer Plasma about 2.5 years ago and they were 2 years ahead of every other manufacturer and I did some serious research at the time. Not sure if that is still the case, but if you are going to get a plasma Id seriously advise looking at what they are producing

Large LCDs are a lot cheaper now than they were then, but Id imagine you get what you pay for
