yep not had the heating on for three years now

advise is dont buy on first visit try different shops and sales people.

ask lots of questions, ie what would take pride of place in thier living room.

when i bought my plasma 3 years ago the sales person got so fed up with me
he invited me round to see his own home theatre.

look for whites and blacks

panasonic and pioneer used to do good blacks but the whites had the that bluey tinge to them.

hitachi who used to supply alot of flat panels to most brand names had realy good whites but the blacks somtimes had a hint of green

i still like my hitachi although its three years old now still i feel no reason to upgrade.

i have connected to it

topfield 5800 pvr
sky+
samsumg hd dvd
liteon dvd recorder
my computer
xbox 360
Jimmy what way do you have your PC connect to your HDTV is it with the HDMI and do you have it so you can see your PC on your PC monitor as well as on your TV at the same time and what is the picture like with your PC showing on your HDTV is it really sharp and clear and good for PC gaming

i can go vga or dvi-d

can depend on your graphics card if it is dual out and if its vga or dvi

mine will do both and the plasma will recieve both.

I looked at a bravia lcd with a ps3 connected to it and the picture was a major let down,(maybe it wasnt connected with a hdmi cable),hence putting me off lcd.

Even so blown up on my wall on my projector now the picture is pretty fookin great... I mean how much definition is required for Bukakke Party 8 ???

I've never seen a picture with as good quality as my 32" lcd. Admittedly I had to send the first back. BUT at £400 I am so chuffed with it. Got a VGA input. 1080 hdmi. I got a samsung HDMI DVD player and a HDMI lead and picture is incredible.

AJ Electronics - Mirai MIR32W100 32inch HD Ready LCD TV MIR32W100

EDIT- this company make the screens for samsung

Looking good leaky, glad you're sorted mate

Been looking at these earlier Buy SAMSUNG LE40N87BDX | Digital 40" 1080p hd ready lcd tv - Televisions | Comet but then I keep reminding myself that I don't watch enough tv to justify spending that amount

Amazing how much these giant tv's have come down in price though and that's also for a 1080p

I'll propbably give it another few months I reckon, unless I get on Virgin+ at some point soon which broadcast in HD

Getting Virgin+ for HD is a waste of time. I've had it for over 12 months and the only thing transmitted in HD is the BBC HD preview channel, which very occasionally has the odd film on there. You can get pay per view films in HD and Dolby Digital, but there isn't much choice. Skys offering is a much better prospect IMHO.

We have just bought this 1 yesterday from Comet; made up with it.

Its really interesting to here you guys talk about the picture quailty though we bought the gold leads on some channels the picture is perfect then say on eastenders on bbc 1 it can look washed out comapred to the old tv.

On the whole very happy spot on sound quality

Bugger!

I don't really watch much tv, but seeing a mate having control of what she watches and starting proggys when she wanted on the regular package made it look enticing Thought the + package might have had a lot of HD content for it seeing as Sky has so many HD channels now, but it doesn't sound too good.

I'm not in any rush anyway, mate, but cheers for the info
