the give a child a toy at christmas appeal

Hi everyone , just had a thought on my way home from work and as its that time of year i thought it might be a good idea to prick a few peoples concience and give those people who dont know the heads up on an appeal which most areas run, all you have to do is buy an extra toy at xmas and hand it in ( unwrapped ) to a designated shop or store in your area.

Now i know for Liverpool you hand in your gift at any " sayers " shop on merseyside.

And for the Lanceshire area you use any " spar " shop.

I myself have heard this plea year on year and have never got up of my lazy arse and done anything about it so this year thats going to change !!!!!

You dont have to spend much and if you think what joy you are going to bring some poor little child on christmas day, i think you'll agree it would be worth it

If your not from any of the areas above i'm sure all local radio stations are running a similar schemes and if you tune in you can find out where to take your toys.

Anyway nice one for reading and if one of you buys an extra toy it'll be worth it

I'm not sure if any of the mods can make this post a sticky ? personally i think it would be worth while

Warren, consider it done mate. . . .great idea.

My mum fills a shoe box with presents every year through church and they get sent to Romanian orphanage's.

Often she gets a letter of thank's back from the young recipient which is enough to make you cry.

They appreciate it so much because often it's all they have in the world .. it's like treasure to them.

Warren, well done for posting this mate.

T.C. We always give dog food to local dogs homes at Christmas too! Another great cause IMO.

lovin the idea warren!!

radish.....we do the same thing with the romanian orphans though a woman in work, we fill a shoe box with all kinds of random stuff for either a male or female and in 3 diffo age groups and put in it either toiletries or little games colouring books and them little travel games etc...and it costs ya less than a tenner

it makes so much differance and everybody goes overboard anyway at christmas so ya mayaswell shell out a few extra quid for a little nipper thats never had the pleasure of a decent crimbo all their life

i shall donate my old crack pipe......still a few tokes left in the ole bugger yet oh, and a half bottle of wrongbow
