I actually feel sick. It is disgusting. Its like something out of the victorian age......

What is getting to me is that some of those children were normalish??? They would have support in this country and make a good life for themselves? What the fuck is going on???? Human Rights Act???? Kick Bulgaria out of the E.U. We won't let Turkey in for Human Rights Reasons.....laws are meant to protect children. Its just unbelieveable.

i simply cannot watch it
all children should have a right to a life regardless of their intellect or physical limitations amy, i work with adults who were intitutionalised bcause they werent "normal" and were left to learn for themselves thus having a smaller or no vocabulary at all. with intensive interaction and a lot of patience the people i support have blossomed and play an important part in their local community.
what is "normal" anyway?
sorry about the rant but it is a subject very close to my heart and i hope no one takes offence by it.

i was just channel hopping and came across this, i didnt watch it all but what i saw was enough to make me start bawling

how on earth can they let places/institutions/homes still be ran like this!!!

how on earth can they pick up then kids like that, how on earth can they let a young defenseless child get tugged about like that and let her broken leg go un-noticed

this sickens me so much.............and how on earth can the director of that shit-hole still be a director there!!!!!

god it was just so so tragic
those poor kids, i did manage to watch it to the end as i was hoping that at the end there was gonna be some good news
alas no.. so went to bed crying for those poor kids who stand no chance, just left to die basically, so malnourished, uncared for, no love, no warmth, no interaction, no nurturing, no education, no stimulation, no nothing except sloppy food spoon fed, and a bath or shower everyday cooped up in a room, its enuf to send anyone crazy or to death
its just barbaric
the carers did not even seem affected by the childrens plight
and the director, well - shocking - i just couldnt belive what was coming out of her mouth, how can she possibly think that she is not failing those kids, when they are dying in her care from maltreatment and malnourishment? apparently its the local mayor that hires and fires the director, its just frightening beyond belief
and all so unnescessary

all of those kids - given love, attention, stimulation, a proper diet and ooodles of cuddles would come on leaps and bounds physically, mentally and emotionally

Im so glad that some more peeps have seen this, as i put a thread on here when it was first on a few weeks back but it was on itv3 or something, i dont think anyone saw it back then, lots of people wrote to the tv station to try to get it shown on itv1 and thank god it worked as this really needs to be highlighted, i didnt watch it again last night because it haunted me so bad after i first watched it, especially the little boy at the end who grabbed the journalists arm and pulled himself in for a hug, that will stick with me forever, i trawled the internet to find some way of helping these kids but it came back that if you give to most of the charities, the money or clothes/toys etc end up in the hands of the staff and never make it to the kids, i havent got the link now and dont know if its still up but the itv web site had a link to a letter that you could send the the government of Bulgaria to complain.

I sat & bawled

So angry & so touched at the same time... the director could not give a fuck... the lass who wrote to her Mum everyday & was asking her boyfriend what had she done that was so bad that her Mum had abandoned her....

I just wanted to reach out & hug each & every one of them...

I wasn't trying to make a distinction....but its obvious that some of them were much more disabled and would be however and wherever they were looked after. Some of them (the girl who could talk, DiDi was it?) would have lived a perfectly normal life in this country is what I meant........I'm not denying that all children have a right to life!!!!!!!
