There's a rat in mi kitchen...

...what am I gonna do ?

Actually it's a mouse in me house & it ain't scouse...

Saw the lil fella scurrying from my kitchen to my lounge last night.... had a look under my kitchen units & there's a hole where all my downpipes through that go out to the main drain etc... (it's a converted flat)... so seems he can scurry in the gaps between flats...

I did forget to throw me rubbish out before I left for NYC so possibly the smell of an empty KFC box drew him in...

Now if it was a rat I'd be straight onto the environmental health etc... but this mouse is dead cute... would you set traps / poison for the lil mite or live with him lol ?

Hope he ain't got any big brothers...

We had one in our old house. . . . It was very cheeky and cute! Joanne would not have it harmed and named it Bandit!

She used to feed the damn thing when I was not around!

I had an attempt to catch it once. We put some Cheese down in the middle of the kitchen floor and I hid out of sight with a blanket that I was to throw over the floor and then trap him and release him outside!

He would normally appear quickly for food, but on this occasion he was not to be seen. In the end I got bored (after 30mins), popped into the room to catch the news headlines (for 60 seconds) came back to my position and the bloody cheese had gone. . . .Bandit indeed!

Never lived it down in my household. . . .Outsmarted by a mouse!

He just disappeared of his own accord and we never got infested!

Shooms, you can get live traps, the mouse will go in it but wont be able to get out, you can then release it back to the wildlife

I say if it aint bothering you then just leave it, it wil go away on its own, otherwise get a cat

Problem with wild mice and rats is that they are constantly marking with piss all the time which can make you pretty ill..i would say rats are more of a worry than mice (I know from experience) but if they are breeding somewhere, which i expect they will be..the prob could get worse and they will all end up using your flat as a toilet..could be worth dealing with imo. Ed

Only this morning one of women at work (julie) blurts out there a rat in my kitchen what am i going to do

cute as they are im afraid you are going to have to put a trap down (you can get humane ones that dont kill, just catch them, but tbh your better off killing it as its vermin). They are a health hazard and if it breeds in the walls then you are going to be overrun.
Put some bail down in some little pots near where it gets in and it will take the food back to its nest and the rest eat it too and they will all pop their little clogs.

sorry it sounds so mean but id rather not share my home with vermin. lol.
