| Gravy hint... To make the most delish gravey, stay away from gravy granuals... When the meat's cooked, reheat the juices and mix in about a teaspoon of flour, mix in anything else you've cooked with the meat for extra flavour, garlic, onions, whatever. Then splash in as much wine in as you want, preferably red with meat, white with chicken (though white wine and chicken stock will make a funny coloured gravy but still tastes great!). Then add some stock that corresponds to the meat, or vege stock if you prefer. Add more flour if necessary, or more stock cubes and your gravy wil kick ass to Bisto.... Roast garlic always goes well with chicken. Break the garlic into cloves, but leave the skin on. Cook it with the chicken or the spuds then take the skin off to eat...simple as! Enjoy xx |

| ive only ever made 1 sunday roast in my life im not too bad at cooking but meals such as roast dinners, full english etc really scare me and send me head spinning, way too many pots, pans, times to remember for my liking, and i ended up not moving from the cooker the whole time it was cooking, checking on things, wondering if id got the timings right etc the memory i have of my mum cooking a roast (rare occasion, i was raised on chips and cheapo mini pizzas) was she would disapear into the kitchen for a couple of mins, come out, watch tv for a good while, then go into the kitchen and almost instantly come walking back out with full chicken roast dinners plated up i thought it was magic when i was a nipper, and now im older i still have no idea how she used to do it nowadays its off to a friends and sit there drooling untill i get offered some or off to a hungry horse or sumit.cooking them big full on scrans aint for me, keep it simple i say! nothing of any use to you in my post lozzie sorry but good luck lol, if ya pull it off be proud of yaself i was when i attempted it that 1 time long ago coz believe me it aint no easy task, well not for me due to being complety devoid of any organisational skills and being a complete plum ![]() |
