Quality. I'm not gonna go through all the stuff I have done on previous posts. If you know how to set your ipod up you can access it on any laptop anywhere as well as use it as a portable harddrive. You can now get a 80gig ipod from the states for less than £150. Almost worth spending that much to have a portable drive that small never mind the fact its an mp3 player as well.

So I dug out the receipt and luckily found that it was still in warranty. Took it down to my nearest apple store, the assistant reloaded it but it still did't work, so I insisted on a new replacement.

The nerdy assistant, eventually agreed and pulled out a box with a new ipod in it. It was't till I was going through the paperwork that I realised that the so called new ipod was infact a "reconditioned model". This means that most of the machine is new, but some parts could have come from other faulty machines. This was't the worst part, I then found out that the so called new machine then only had a 90 day warranty.

To me this does't make sense, surely if you bought a TV and it went wrong (in warranty) you would expect a new replacement, not a reconditioned TV. I tried to explaine this to the twat but he was't having any of it.

I have written a letter of complaint to apple and am waiting to hear back, but have since done a bit of research and there have been various articles written about people having the same complaints. It seems that apples stance is "take it or leave it" it seems to me that they just expect you to throw away your ipod once it stops working, even if its only just a year old .

So people, I agree that the ipod is pretty cool and looks the business, but don't expect your £200 gadget to last much over a year

And don't expect APPLE to give a toss either.
ask ezee about he's telly u will b shocked, they wud'nt replace it untill it broke 3 times wtf ,it was only 3 months old

That is OK by law

They have the oppurtunity to fix it for you and only if it keeps failing do they have to supply a new one. Fit for purpose is the key words you need to use in this case, if they give you a new one and it breaks then they can choose to fix it. If it then works OK then everybody is happy. Do not be fooled into thinking you are entitled to a new replacement everytime somethin new breaks once or twice.

This happens with new cars all the time
