... used a phone box to call someone?

I thought about this the other day after I noticed a local phone box still had all it's windows intact

I don't think I've used a phone box since getting a 1st mobile phone back in the early 90's, you never see anyone using them nowadays, not like the 80's where you'd see loads of kids hanging out of one (the old see how many you can fit in a phone box/aka pretend to be spackers and squish ya face up against the window)

The old crank calls to the operator "i need a new bum as this one has a crack in it"

Even thesedays if your phone line at home goes tits up you can report a fault from your mobile, or even the internet (if its a cable line of course) who, nowadays ever uses a pay phone

the last time i used a payphone was yonks ago......theres a pub i go in and ya can never get a signal on the mobile to ring a taxi.........but i was mortified when it asked for me to put in 50p minimum for the call!!

i remember when ya used to stick 10p in and youd be able to gab for aaaaages...then it started counting down ur last 10 seconds and then ud motormouth the last bit of ur convo before ya pips went

I cant remember when I last used a telephone box, its gotta be years! I have had a mobile for so long now that ive never needed too. (in fact the last one i used smelled of wee...............) (shooms ??) lol
Funnily enough I got my home phone bill this morning and it was itemised - said id made 4 calls this month!! see i use my mobile so much as i get free calls and texts that i never even use the house phone let alone a phone box, lol

cant even remember well I tried to use the payphone at work a few months back but it was broken anyway and doesnt really count as a box (err I said box..)

I still have a phonecard in my purse though, forced onto me ages ago by my mum awww

The red ones were loads better

and..50p minimum call!!!? they gotta be having a giraffe! mind you, suppose most calls are likely to be to mobiles anyway these days
