Do you reckon McClaren will stick with him once other players are fit?

Ditto Heskey as well.

It's seems perfectly reasonable to me to stick with a winning team but I doubt he'll have the bollocks to do so and risk upsetting Lampard / Rooney etc and in which case it could be same old England.

Fully agree. Can see Hargreaves comin back for Barry tho. Lampard should neva start for england whilst Gerrard fit. How sh*te was Crouch once again when he came on... heskey looked ten times the bloke.

We been saying this for years !
Barry consistantly plays like that for Villa head and shoulders over the rest of our team. hope he keeps him and gerrard as they looked a solid midfield. no disrespect to lamps, good player but not cut it for England really. Actually the England team looked more balanced. I liked Wright Philips and Richards on right and Cole and erm cole on left ( ashley cole looked a bit suss second half though )

good result

thats the Sun for you. Barry played really well and created a good balance in midfield by virtue of him being left footed...

Can I state here and now that if Mcferguclaren replaces Micah Richards with quazy senior - I'll never watch another England game whilst he's in charge...

Barry has been outstanding for England and for club so I'm told.

He is a left footer, does not want to play in the same space as Gerrard and therefore it's a perfect partnership.

Gerrard despite not been fully fit, looked like he enjoyed the games playing with Barry.

Sorry Lampard, but I think you're out until you are a better player than Gerrard! Waiting for hell to freeze over could take a while though.

with you on that one, Richards should be our 1st choice right back on those peformances, on plus side he his young and got a good few years in him so put him in give him the experience which in time will make him improve on quality that he already is. Also SWP good partnership let them grow together on the right side and get an understanding. quazy , beckham, Lamps, Hargeaves on bench, bloody good bench though !!!

Barry as been the man of the match for me in the last two outings for england, played with sense and common sense in defence, dynamite for playing trough the centre, and lays back a perfect ball to the wnigs in defence. played some top balls through the mid field to support the forwards, and his corner balls were mint...........................just have to hold my hands up now to ste Mac, and say what a scraping of the bottom of the barral that put up a brill performance (that is a england fans view).............................deffo food for thought with upcoming englands first team selection..........heskey, owen. terry,ferdinand..........srp, richards, barry, gerrard, the goal keeper, most of them..............looking on, england do have some structure again...........without most of the stars............simply play the best.
