Imo (of course) lol

You must be one of lucky uns Chez, both do suit ya. For me it wasnt if it suited me, god Ive had it blonde n pink, blonde and red, blonde and brown. Even had it purple for a Christmas a few years back (looked like a quality street (the purple one)-lol)and loved it, Its more of the manageability (sp) I found it was dry, dull and brittle, something you dont get if its natural blonde

Try it...if you get a good colourist (and I know one-lol) you should have it sussed!

I had mine blonde just after I left school, it cost me £35 and was done THROUGH A CAP! Oh dear. Was well the wrong shade, but it worked out well in the end.

I didn't take care of it properly, and it fucked up (mine is sooooo dark anyways-even more now-its black) If yours did get a bit fucked, it's well long enough so that you could get the ends chopped if you needed!

BUT, you really do get ALOT more attention of the male race...it's sooo weird!!!

Cheryl you really suit being a blonde I think!

I spoke to my hairdresser who said try some warmer lightish brown colours and see how I feel about that. She also advised me to come without any fake tan on so I will get a true feel for how much I like it or not....I have been slapping the old orange on for the start of uni Think thats probably sound advice. Will post up if and when it happens

Thanks boys and girls x

I think what I am really aiming for is what I like to call 'Clueless' hair after the Alicia Silverstone character in the film of the same name. Unfortunatley I have just found a picture of her with dark hair which is throwing me off. Does anyone have any opinion on this? I really love her hair in Clueless when its all thick and blonde and bouncy. I think I could carry it off??? My baby hair was just as light and Im convinced that I have the same skin tone as I did when I was born!

My hair as a little un' -

Thoughts appreciated!!!
don't go blonde, its just not on.

Its hard this one Amy as you're quite pale- what about having a few sorta caramel colours? I perhaps would stay away from going too light as you might look washed out.

I am naturally quite fair, but i am lucky in some respects as i have quite a dark skin tone. I would love to be brave and go really dark (or should that be light lol), but instead i stick with my usual boring inbetween shiz. I am going to be brave and get a bob, i just need to decide what colour.
I am pale & defo suit blonde better-just gota be the right shade. I had mine chopped into a bob and i love it. go for it amelie. Go lighter, you'd look slick as.... lol

I think your coloring, eyes, skin etc is very much suited to Brunette. While I'm sure you would carry off Blonde, I think Brunette is your look! Nature thought so.

It can take badly on some hair and could look cheap. . .bit of a gamble. My wife had a change of colour once and the hairdresser messed up. . . .tears mate I tell thee! Also You would need a very aggressive bleach to go blonde, could damage your hair mate.

It will cost a bomb as you will constantly need to have the roots done every 2/3 weeks. You did say you were looking to save money a few weeks ago, this would be an extra expense. It would be cheap if you did it yourself. . .a fortune at the hairdressers.

If you change your mind it will require recoloring back again, matching your original colour while it grows out could be awkward.

How do I know all this for a bald person. . . I colour the wife's hair for her! What a shameful admission!

PM Sonz, she is in the trade.
EVERY 2 TO 3 WEEKS! JEEZ!! I wouldn't even do someones hair with bleach that often, unless they didnt want any hair left! woo!

Well i'm naturally dark & i've gone blonde twice. The crucial thing is getting it the right shade of blonde to suit you so you don't look cheap like you say & it suits your skin tone so its not too fake.

Basically, in a nutshell, your hair will definitely be in worse condition, and it probably won't ever suit you as well as it does dark nomatter what shade you manage to get it, & you will probably end up going back dark at some stage again to the detriment of your hairs condition,

BUT, if you can't fk about with your hair & experiment while you're young when can you?!, it feels ace having a change & for me having my hair in a slightly worse condition was WELL worth it to be blonde for a bit, it brightens up your face, you can wear LOADS more colours of clothing with it, you DO attract more attention (lol), its definitely more fun. I find it easier than dark to maintain, only need roots doing & it doesn't fade out like dark dye.
Its just one of those things a brunnette has got to do for a bit I think lol. Plenty of time for brunnette when we're grown ups. & if you don't do it now you will always be wondering.

On that note, i'm thinking of going brunnette again soon lol, what do you think?!!! LOL
I do like yours blonde-you little bombshell you! lol. But dark is defo the way to go. I think blonde highlights with dark base, not as dark as the last pic and dont go too blond with the blonde..... Can't wait to see what you do next.

On a serious note though Amy, I will say that your eyes won't look as green as they do when your hair is dark. My eyes are pretty blue and I've never had so many comments on how blue they are as I have as when my hair was dark. No-one really says anything any more. Also, it was defo more shiny, I loved it!!

My hair is naturally very fair so I felt hideous dark (also, it wasn't my choice, my old boss dyed it dark!! I went from the first pic to the second pic without my say so and I was horrified). Took me ages to get it back blonde in good nick too.

I have mine dyed with a tint so my hair is in good condition, plus I never use the straighteners on it!! I did think about havin a few bleach highlights to brighten it up but not so sure. I tricked butty into tellin me which he prefers and he said blonde. lol.

I think if you were to go lighter maybe just stick to it being more caramel. Not brassy but sort of softer blond. Plus obv the upkeep for you would be insane if you went too light.

my opinion anyways.....

forgot to add, the orginal blonde, then me dark and how it is now! x

Ok so I got that bit wrong. . . but dark roots would need looking at regular like.

My experience is on Semi permanent colour, not blonde bleach stuff!!

I bow to your experience in the field Mate!

How long would it take for the dark roots to show and how often could you touch them up without serious harm to the hair?

I do mine every 5 weeks but I'm so obsessive its not even funny. No-one else can see my roots but it makes me feel sick having roots. I'd say 6-8 weeks is the norm for people to come in. Plus with me only havin a tint, it's not as bad, plus my hair grows quickly. It depends on how quick your hair grows really....
