Underage drinking & anti-sociable behaviour

The press are going to town again (quite rightly) following the murder of that guy in Warrington by teen ASBO scum.

Raising drink prices / ages may be a knee jerk reaction & unfairly penalising the majority that can drink & not behave like twats.

What would you do to turn this very British disease around ?

Personally I would make the parents equally responsible for any crimes their kids commit until they turn 18.

Thoughts ?

Don't get me started on this kind of thing. I feel like there should be some kind of jury who decides whether you are fit to have kids. What about harsher sentances. I'd personally put these kids down myself in an electric chair. Wrong uns will nearly always stay wrong uns

Bring back national service, sorry to sound like a grandad but i really think they need to use scare tactics, and this would beat some sense into those little chavvy foookers...

tougher sentancing... lower the age of being tried as an adult.. it may be the parents fault in some cases.. but not all... has to be a better deterent!!!

Im with you nazzer m8 - national service for a minimum of three yrs for any wrong doing! id also make it compulsary for immigration rights too!!! if ya want to live in this country - claim from this country etc etc then you do for our country first!!! if you refuse then you are refused!

There's no discipline any more. Kids are growing up knowing that they can get away with murder and the most they'll ever get is a bit of a shouting at (if that).

When I was at Junior School, if you fucked about you got Sammy The Slipper and then the cane at High School. Now teachers are scared of even raising their voices for fear of getting dragged up before some tribunal. There's a whole generation of teenagers that have grown up in this softly-softly climate and we are now seeing the consequences.

The yoof of today know that the chances of them going to jail are next to zero. Every time I hear of a punishment containing the words 'community' or 'supervision' my blood boils. Get 'em breaking rocks.

I agree tho, national service should be brought back, and when these little scroats who killed that man get convicted, they wont do life, they will get as Mr Shifter said, some community order and be made to apologise to the family, not meaning a single ounce of it...To want to kill someone is horrific, barbaric and the persecutor(s) should get a very long time inside with a weekly dose of botty sex from an inmate. America has the death penalty, why dont we..? Yeah its a bit extreme, but so is kicking someone to death or stabbing someone...this a fuct up world we are living in and i dont reckon it will get better only worse sadly...

People are too soft on kids now i rekon, did i hear somewhere they are even banning detentions at school or something?

me and my mates used to drink from a young age, out on the streets, but i didnt know anyone that would have attacked someone for coming out and shouting at us, and that was only 7 years or so ago.
my bro doesnt go out half as much as i did, coz of fear that kids from another town near me (gorton) will come and batter em.

i dont think all the violence is alcohol related thou, kids go drinkin coz theres nowt better to do. theres nowhere to go other than the streets.
i just think some of em have no respect, like what has been said, they have no fear of punishment.

i have to agree with all of the threads.. since the school holidays have started the same kids have been sittin on the wall by my place EVERYDAY drinkin and smokin shit!!!. they are a law on to themselves and like those in the know have the coppers chasin there own arses..
Now i used to sit on that wall myself as a kid and do the same but never everyday and woe be tide if i got caught..
iam sick of this pc, nanny state crap now. the party that says enough is is enough will landslide the next election ..
