I can barely remember life before Thatch... Callaghan vagually but really my formative years were under ole vinegar tits, therefore I can't comment on the state of the country before this.... however the videos I've seen 3 day working weeks, petrol rationing, bin men strikes & strikes in general doesn't cast the Labour govt pre Thatch in a good light

For the majority of people it's just incomprehensible how a person could do this to another. What in the world must be going on in the mind of a person to inflict so much evil onto another life?. Every time I hear of an incident like this the first thoughts that cross my mind are how could they do such a thing????? why would they do such a thing?????.

The thought of someone using violence against another (apart from in an absolute need of self defence, that's different) and gaining pleasure from it just thouroughly sickens me. As for the parents, there are just so many attributes to be taken into account. Not all bad kids / adults come from bad parents, maybe some do, maybe it's the majority, I don't pretend to know the answer, haven't a clue!. Someone needs to start finding out though !!!

There definitely needs to be a major overhaul in the law, and not just for teenagers and there needs to be some serious work (and possibly eradication) done with these people. Fair enough there has always been evil/sick/crazy mofo's but it sure does feel more commonplace nowadays.

I agree with stronger laws / locking people away from the rest of society, but it only helps us all if they're never let back in again!!! and maybe like others have suggested castration/sterilisation to stop it once and for all !!!

I think my strongest view on this is the need to find out why, properly and once and for all, no more theoretical viewpoints, but real evidence so that it can maybe be fixed? and if not and we just have to accept that some people are just bad through and through, this time can we please find somewhere other than Australia to ship the bahhhhhsterds to, please !!!

It's definitely a social thing, the fabric of British society is breaking down around us and no one is doing anything about it.

So until that begins to change the problem will only get worse... time to emigrate???

Boot camp and the death penalty doesn't work as a deterent in America, so it's deeper issues that need addressing first sadly

Exactly, i can only speak from personal experience- but i was far worried by my parents finding out i'd been upto mischief- than the police, that was what kept me on the straight and narrow. The fear of getting twatted by my dad for being v bad. *cough, i mean respect for my parents*

Granted i went a bit of the rails, during my clubbing career, but never went to jail, or had more than an overnight stay in a cop shop.

Kids today aren't scared of police, parents, anything. No fear apart from rival gangs / their peers. ooooooh don't get me started. (again) lol

Yeah, and it's hardly supprising when you've got twonks like this:

And I quote ""It lets the youngsters see a more human side to the police. The kids see us down there skateboarding and see us as cool, rather than something they have to fear."

WTF?

The same report in the Independent had the copper trying to ride the skateboard backwards. Really Cool.

What they should do with the chavvy scumbags in Warrington is send them to Afghanistan armed with nothing more than a swiss army knife and tell them to kill as many insurgents as possbile. Those that fail die and are taken out of the gene pool. Those that succeed in taking out some UK armed forces killing afghan scumbags should then be summarily shot upon return from their missions to save any skills learnt in the field from coming back over here and are taken out of the gene pool.

This would definitely cut down on the number of statistical casualties on our actual armed forces.

Decoys anyone?

Either that (and I have said this before) the family/friends should be allowed to exact punishment with the same weapons/numbers locked in a secure area.

Surely this would be more of a deterrent?

Kick somebodies head almost off their shoulders and the friends/family can do the same to you, taking as much time as they like?

Don't get me started on chavs..........
