I saw a medical article in the Times a year ago; saying the angle you hold lock your ankle and knee at, is very bad at taking all the vibration and shocks from using them as skates. Now every other kid has a pair. Might be worth looking for articles about them

im sure i read somewhere about them being the new main cause of children being admitted to A&E for broken arms and wrists. thing is when i was little i had those huges heavy metal roller skates that strapped onto your shoes and they use to be lethal, lol - i had many a skater injury, so i cant see any difference between falling over wearing these and what we used to wear, lol ahh i think this was the article i read > Rolling sneakers blamed for rise in kid injuries - Kids & Parenting - MSNBC.com

anyhoooooo..............it would appear that a lot of supermarkets are looking at banning kids from going in when they have heelys on due to the high num of them that 'fall over' wearing them and the supermarkets are not wanting to get sued. obviously they have nice shiny level floor so perfect for heelys and i can see why they are trying to be stopping kids going in with them.
