Having just seen Shooms' post...

I thought I'd ask.

I've been meanin to do a thread for a bit now and Shooms' thread just reminded me.

Now, I think that people who share their birthday's on the same day should still be entitled to their own thread. I just think it's nice to say Happy Birthday to someone a bit more personally and it's nice to have your own special thread on your birthday!

I think sometimes it can get a bit unpersonal (is that the right word??) and I know I'm guilt of this but I also think that you can then say happy birthday to the people you want to also.

I also think everyone likes to feel a bit special and having your own thread is better than sharing! (C'mon people-be a bit selfish for once!!)

I know the mods sometimes amalgamate thread's to make it easier for people but I reckon it's not that hard and people should stop being lazy!

So, what dya reckon??
Or do you just not give a shit? lol

x

its nice to have your own. Unless you are really unpopular lol and its probably best that you share with somebody, rather than go top yourself because nobody gives a shite that its your birthday lol

Sonz you obviously have FAR too much time on your hands

I would be grateful if anyone remembered my birthday at all & took the time to post a few words... if I happened to share my bday with someone else & it was a joint post I wouldn't mind at all... it's being thought of that's most important to me...

Wouldnt bother me sharing a birthday thread , the fact that someones even botherd to do a thread is enough , you can still leave a personal reply on a joint thread or even better wing em a pm wishing them a happy b,day

I reck there's gonna be the 'everything's all about me' people who want all the attention for themselves and also the people who don't want any attention and would prefer to pass by unnoticed and the ones in the middle who are happy that it's recognised but don't want much of a fuss.

I personally think one thread a day is enough to say happy birthday to everyone on that day, for the egomaniacs who can't bear the idea of not having their own, i'm sure their close mates will give them a thread all to themselves

I didn't mean this thread to sound selfish, soz if it came across like that.

I meant it in the way that when there are threads for several people you can sometimes feel obliged to say happy birthday to all people in the thread, even if you wouldn't have normally. (not referring to the thread shooms did yesterday, I had been meanin to post about this for a bit and the fact he did 3 people in one thread reminded me. I don't mean puddled etc...)
I just think it gets a bit unpersonal at times!

I agree, much nicer to have own thread, otherwise it looks a bit standard daily chore-ish rather than special

Why not put an automated bday message up? OSA is a forum and without its members it could not be, OSA is a family, we should say happy bday to everyone, its their bday after all, and everyone should feel special on their birthdays

Wether they are on separate threads or not, Im not too fussed Al say happy bday to strangers or ppl I know, its nice to feel special and if I can contribute to someone smiling, then I will

I'd wrestle anyone who says you're selfish sonz

At the same time though, if there's three birthday threads and one is one page, one is two pages and the other is four pages or summat, it's a bit naff for those who don't get many people replying whilst if there was just one they wouldn't be made to feel so bad. It just goes back to the cliquy thing really and seems a bit unfair on those who maybe don't get as involved.

And on a purely selfish level for me, saying happy birthday once a day is enough rather than having to type it out two or three times
