Councils are sent battle plan for a long, hot summer | Local Government | SocietyGuardian.co.uk "Predicting a return to a summer of illegal parties, the association warned councils that young people had tired of mainstream bands and were turning to "nu-rave" music that was not available at established clubs and festivals." | Yeah right If an illegal event was being organised, councils should help the organisers apply for a temporary event licence on suitable land. Can you imagine the local council or the police (wankers) actually giving any organisers any help organising any sort of rave. Local police tried to stop us putting an old skool night in our local club cos it was classed as a rave. They couldnt do feck all cos we were all members and it was a ticket only event for members and signed in legitimate guests. |

| better dig them white gloves and glo sticks out jonno .... New Rave (sometimes referred to as nu-rave)[1] is a label applied to a style of music fusing elements of electronic, disco music and punk, which developed in the UK in 2006.[1] It has similarities with US-led style dance-punk. Music publication NME is largely responsible for popularising the term, which has connotations of the genre being a 'new' version of 'rave' as well as being a corruption of the term 'new wave'. Klaxons,[1][2][3], New Young Pony Club[4][5][6][7] and Shitdisco[1] are generally accepted as the main exponents of the genre. The aesthetics of the New Rave scene are largely similar to those of the original rave scene, being mostly centred around psychedelic visual effects. Glowsticks, neon and other lights are common, and followers of the scene often dress in bright colours.[1][8]

A generator, some petrol, some decks, lights and Dj's .. . . .Why the hell not. We once "organised" one in an Army firing range on the top of Egton moor after the Whitby Regatta in 1990. . . .it was pure East Coast Class.
