| I made a claim for whiplash against the person who ran into the back of me last december. I suffered whiplash injury and injury to my muscles and ribs on the left side due to the seatbelt as they hit me hard enough that they sent my car into another car - i was chucked forwards quite violently. I have just been offered a settlement which i have accepted so should be here soon.I have had the prescribed course of physio which has helped me a lot but i still suffer a bit from it but its not going to get any better than it is right now so ill still go for the odd session every so often just to make sure it does not get any worse as i value my health. Good Luck with your claim - what you will get offered will depend on what the doctor they send you to says about your injuries in his/her report and the course of treatment they tell you that you need. Also you dont have to accept the offer if you dont feel its enough to compensate you for the injury you have sustained) I had motor legal protection on my insurance policy so i used that going through my insurance to to make my claim.

i had a crash a few years ago which fooked up my neck (and has continued to do so on and off ever since) ![]() dunno about claims companies as mine was all dealt with through insurance but i'll try and remember timings for you ummm, i had the crash in november 2002,and got a fair amount of wedge for it . bearing in mind i was claiming against two other drivers who had hit me, and there was absolutely no question of blame involved - it was definitely their fault, in the eyes of the law, and by admittance. so i guess that helped push things along a lot quicker and easier. what i didnt realise at the time was that i'd get the £££ in dribs and drabs... eg) cheque for replacing car , cheque for loss of earnings, etc.. whatever , cant remember exact breakdowns or what order they came in but i think the injury compensation came last if i remember correctly. it was a pain in the arse too, spent long sessions on phone for weeks etc.. ![]() i seem to recall too that the money to replace my car mustve took at least over a month or so , as i got a courtesy car in the meantime but it mightve been for a month only as i recall having a bit of argy bargy as they wanted the courtesty car back before the money for a new one came through. plus i was off work a month with the injury too anyway. regarding the injury ... they make you go to an independent doctor (they choose ) and you get grilled about it and a full inspection . he then compiles a right long-ass report , pages and pages of it . how long to recover , psychological implications, medication / treatments needed, likelehood of lasting damage , allsorts. as far as i remember the final bit of money mustve come through approx march 2003 as i flew off in april 2003 and spent pretty much all the following month in the west indies and malaga lolall added up to a good few grand i got, not entirely sure of final figure but its not like i was trying to scam them / even needed too... i was off work in a right mess for ages, car was mangled, and none of it my fault ![]() its not funny the whiplash thing though, its fooking agony and despite the recuperation and treatment at the time , ive still had to have repeated physiotherapy, docs appointments, cane the strong painkillers, and have massage treatments for it recurring ever since. sometimes even crops up, seemingly just through sleeping funny / turning head funny etc.. its not nice. would rather it never happened. also, it seems to be prone to easier future damage - when me and woody had our crash a couple of months ago, it seems to make it play up the old damage at the drop of a hat anyway, this was my experiences of it , but like i said it was a while ago now so i may have forgotten bits hope this helps answer some of your questions

| nice 1 people, your info has pointed me in the right direction, my injury is in my left shoulder and the left side of my neck like miss cola's the solictor i spoke to said that this will be a very easy and straught foward claim due to the fact that we was smashed up the arse and the driver admitted fault. he also said that the amount of compo that i would get would be from about 1000-5000 or 5000-16 000 depending on how bad the court thinks my injuries are. ive been to the hospital and all that lark so there is evidence of my injuries, the docter reckons il be out of work for at least 3 weeks so my mum said i must claim for loss of earnings aswell, i noticed in ganjaduke's reply something about a collar, the docter said that the soft ones are useless and that they dont help in anyway shape or form. He said the best thing to do is keep moving my neck, so hopefully i should be rolling in it |
