The Bullshit Detective

Did anyone see that last week?

Quote:
Alasdair Jeffrey is on a personal quest to eradicate bullshit from all areas of our lives. In this series of pranks and stunts, he debunks bullshit of all kinds, from pseudoscience and phoney products to New Age nonsense.

Alasdair worked the corporate consultancy circuit with great success for over 10 years. He appeared in the award-winning BBC Two series Trouble At The Top and BBC Three’s The Ferocious Mr Fixit.

In The Bulls**t Detective, the straight-talking Glaswegian tackles the purveyors of nonsense head on, challenging their claims.

The series investigates get-rich-quick schemes and their promises to make people millionaires. Alasdair confronts the organisers of a pyramid scheme with the mathematical reality their members face. He also reveals sneaky supermarket sales tricks and the self-promoting gurus who promise to reveal the secrets of success in exchange for a large fee.
Loved the bottled water and Thomson Holidays investigations - he made his very own £99 holiday outside one of their offices due to not being able to purchase a holiday for £99 - the cheapest price after an hour + of haggling was £102. Also the energy patches you just stick on like nicotene patches, supposedly to give you an energy boost lol

Again well put together program, is telly getting better again at last?!

Holiday on their door was "from £99"

He went in asking if there was one he could buy for £99

For four people it came out at £716 (£179 each) which is for extras such as insurance and transfers etc.

They neglect to tell you that info on the door, something called bait and trap, which is illegal - they have been done for it twice now.

He haggled and managed to reduce the price to £102, which was £3 over the £99 price, that was after an hour and speaking to the manager.

He didn't go ahead and instead made his own holiday outside the office door, ordered a ton of sand and some deckchairs lol

You had to have seen the program really to get it

We like to do this dead spazzy thing in our house and actually eat our tea whilst watching a cookery prog . Same as when i am cleaning the front room- i watch a decorating prog or that cleanaholics show.

That Masterchef Goes Large is good at the mo too. Lol some of the people that enter are really shit though.

I caught a bit of this show for the first time last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. The guy doesn't give a monkeys cos when the sales guys on Tottenham Court Road came out to give him a hard time he looked right up for a bit of bother.

Thoroughly enjoyed what I saw of the show and will definitely be looking out for it in future.
