since its up the road from me i always have a flutter on the national if im up after a heavy friday night of ladys night in town lol not me of course saying in a deep butch voice ahuh.....

national has always been a big thing in our house since i was a kid everyone screeming at the telly and all the mad names for the jumps and horses its a big thing here in sunny liverpool lol and most people go out and just have a good time at the races then onto town for a YOUR NEVER GETTING A TAXI HOME NIGHT...

BEST THING IS I MIGHT BE UP IN HUDDERSFIELD WERE I MIGHT JUST GET A TAXI CUS THERES MILLIONS.....

I'm goin Aintree on Saturday with a few of the lads...should be a crackin day...weathers lookin mint as well.

Haven't had a proper look yet but I'll prob go for :

Point Barrow 10/1 (win)

Silver Birch 33/1 (e/w)

both in the national.

All my family go to my grans and watch evry year, they do a sweep. i remember when i was a little un, and i was watching it, all the rabble were shouting a the TV, and i noticed a horse fall over, i asked someone if it would get up, my uncle said not likely itll prob get shot, WTF??? obv i cried. I then got told its what horses are for? oh sorry i thought they were used int olden days to carry food/resources to and from and to pull carriges n stuff??? used for petage etc

imo i think its cruel to be whacking a horse with them whips, and then forcing them to jump over fences which may possibly end up with them being shot, ppl are gonna tell me oh they like it? HOW, i know i wouldnt like it if ppl where whacking me telling me to go faster, and if they like to run fast (am sure they do), why do they need the whips? and whats with the obstacles, sport my ass...imo

besides all that, they use 'special k' to knock them out dont they?, well imo- less on the horses, more for me!

i feel the same way about fox hunting, dog fighting, seal hunting, whale hunting, went to spain a few years ago to do the naked bull run to try stop them doing bull fighting...leave them alone ffs, its their world just as much as it ours....imo

I wonder how well it will run though, what with it wearing two pairs of knocked off TN's and with the jockey holding a binbag full of Mach III blades, shower gels and shampoos robbed from Superdrugs.....

Thanks Betty, that makes two of us. Some horse racing is better than others, but I find the national appaling.

It gets hard work at work, because they run a sweep every year and I just get called the grumpy-fucker for not taking part. I dont elaborate too much on why I dont join in, I just say Im not into it, dont gamble anyway and dont agree with it for animal welfare reasons.

Theyre always like " " " " or " ".....but I dont care!

Two of my mates are Vegans, and they do the naked run thing in Spain which is for highlighting the bull fighting issue! I wouldnt strip down and do that though pmsl.

I dont really preach, I just avoid things personally and subtly make a point

lol @ the naked bull run, it was a trek to get there!!! your not totally naked. well at least i werent, you have a sign over your modesty, you know like those news paper stands

i have a friend whos travelling up and down the country making ppl aware of animal cruelty, she wont even wear leather shoes!!!
