| FAO Red Mancs I know most of you are plastic & don't travel but if anyone has friends / rellies over there I hope they are OK... 3 stabbed as I'm reading it on another forum... Dirty Itie knife-wielding cowards... & the Italian OB being totally OTT again Think this could well be viewed by certain elements as a National thing for the return leg... loads of noises being made about support & payback...

However, there is a "reputation" (deserved in the past) that follows the English and others play on it. The Italian fans started throwing things and rushing towards the perspex fence and that was all it took to start the english off. After that the Italian Police just did their usual disgraceful job of putting people in hospital. English fans need to learn how not to be wound up so easily, otherwise no matter how much better they have become, they will always get drawn into trouble even when they don't start it. Seen it a million times! Shame in all respects.

As were the 3 lads that got stabbed... English lads have a reputation that was built decades ago but still is deemed to be current by everyone else... The Scots will never ever know what shite the English fans have had for decades & continue to do so (unmerited) because of course you are the Jolly Tartan Army... ginger wigs, kilts & smiles where ever you go..

the italian fans taunt, the english react, the italian police will not beat up the italians so they beat up the english fans no-one is saying the italian police are not over the top, but why did they have to get involved? english fans have been and still can be the most arrogant and violent fans in the world, the reputation is deserved and continues to be deserved every major championship or european game there is shit like this happening the only real problems we get here now are the rangers gamnes abroad and funnily enough there is a real majority of english and irish fans who go to these games and celebrate the britishness of that club if i took the attitudes that i see in the big mosque post then how am i supposed to judge the english nation if this is the sort of behaviour i see on the tv and hear from fans luckily i am not small minded enough to look at things in this way

| and please note i am never at any point saying "all" in the above post as regards english fans the majority of the trouble is caused by a small minority but as it kicks off the drink fuels others who should know better to join in

I do get the picture fella... even David Blunkett would be able to see the picture.. What irked me was your post insinuating that the bloodshed & injuries last night was down to the English fans because they reacted to a situation / provocation. That's alright then - they must of deserved it eh

The cause I agree - they reacted to provocation... but be honest - it was never going to not happen was it ? The root cause & one that Scots don't suffer from is the provocation itself... English fans have a rep - Scots don't. Rightly or wrongly turning over or getting a result from English lads abroad is still perceived as a major victory by foreign firms. The English are often left in a situation where they get pushed to the point of no return... & the foreign firms know this too well... & that as soon as it DOES kick off foreign plod will batter the fuck out of the English... it's a win win for them. What to do about it ? More painted faces, jesters hats & foam hands I guess... ![]()

| We have this everytime something happens to the rags - lets face it NOTHING will happen at OT - I will see the Roma fans swanning round the city centre at dinner taking pictures of the town hall and having a pint outside the slug & lettuce - absoulutely NOTHING will happen, its purely a European event.

you can turn it around but there is still a small element of the england support who will not allow this the scots fans police themsleves nowaday by standing up to the idiots who used to cause trouble it is not always reacting to provocation that sparks it off either i beleive the turks and the italians should have been thrown out of europe a while ago for the behaviour of their followers, and i believe if it had been english fans they would have been, uefa certainly allow others to get away with it the riots in euro 2000 were not reactions, as neither was the riot in that holiday resort during another championship nothing is ever black and white (except the scum newcastle utd) and i felt that you were absolving the english fans of all blame in recent troubles
