the same with the argument about not being able to have churches etc in muslim countries, this is complete cockwash, everyone is looking to the most extreme countries like saudi and afghanistan (pre-war) and judging all muslims by the same values

what about palestein, one of my friends is a christian arab from that country

i look at it from both sides and actually research and find out facts before i spout diatribes of hate or mis-information based on ignorance (in the main)

i do have one of them arab headresses that the arabs wear though i will also, unfortunately, be traveling to saudi next month due to work committments

You wanted to see the Muslims on my 1st year Islam course. They started arguing with the lecturer, who I might add could not only read, write, and speak arabic, but was a specialist on the crusades, jihad and mysticism in Islam, and had written shit loads of books about it all. He was German, and spoke to us in English, so Im guessing he was a clever fella. One day they told us in a seminar that Britain would turn to Islam by God or the rifle, giving us evils from under their naquib. There we all are trying to learn about their religion so that we might educate a new generation.....and they live up to all the media stereotypes. I struggle very much in Manchester to find a Muslim who doesn't seem to comply with most of the criteria which makes normal decent people anti muslim. I study religion because I think its all a big fucking joke, and I love to see what makes people loose all sense of rationality and logic in the name of something for which there will never be any proof of. Its fascinating, truly fascinating, and after studying most of the Abhramic religions in depth I won't be classed as ignorant.

There was an election scam in my Union last year, in which all the Muslims voted themselves into the Union positions. It definatley was not a coincidence. Nowadays, our student paper is shit, the student politics is shit, and nothing gets done. There is a demonstration about Palestine every fucking day however......Islam awareness week has ironically happened about 8 times......and just 3 weeks ago I was handed a leaflet which presented some interesting information that the current Union leaders were attempting to form an alliance with a terrorist organisation in pakistan who recruits young british muslims in the fight of jihad against the west.

They are doing this shit in a British Centre of Academic Excellence, Manchester University. I have every real reason to believe that more of this shit goes on in mosques than anywhere else.....and Im not even going to look for the proof. I know I would find a shit load.

And im not going to apologise for any of that.

lol I really like that post Amy & hope you don't mind I've de-pinked it so as to make it easier to read (I may be alone but by God pink is hard work to read...)

This example to me speaks volumes... for all talk of 'moderate Muslims' (of which I am sure there are many) who just want to practice their chosen religion in peace (as is their absolute right to) there is a significant percentage of Muslims who seek to forcibly impose Muslim values & beliefs on others, with little or no respect for other peoples beliefs & values, or 'face the consequences'... in essence to try & take over the UK from within.

There is NO other religion I can think of that acts like this & then spits their collective kosher dummies out when / if our govt does not appease them by bending over backwards to accomodate. No religion.

If this type of Islam was a political party there would be a name for it... Fascism.

Of course if you point this out you are branded a 'racist'

But anyway, I think what I'd like to add is that education doesn't always leave people liberal and loving everyone. My experiences and knowledge of Islam has left me very much against it. Some days I even feel so strongly about it that I'd like to get off my arse and do something about it....but then I remember that theres some fake tanning needs doing or something.

exactly, and as soon as Muslim Arabs are out of their airspace they seem to love a good piss up too as my father tells me is the frequent case on flights in and out of Dubai.

a significant percentage of "young" male muslims who have been led astray at university and by joining a "few" mosques where extreme islam is preached does not a religion make

these extremists or fundamentalists live in this democracy and as such are free to believe what they want, they are completely wrong to try and force it on others

the normal british muslim who is proud to be here and works long hours in their business and worships in peace and does not twist the words of the koran to help justify their twisted logic, are completely and utterly ignored in these debates

wanting to build a mosque to worship in does not mean they are trying to force anything on us, yet again the whole point of the post degenerates into generalisations

does the catholic church not try and impose its morals on us? to me it is one of the most evil faiths there has ever been, also how did this country become c of e? was it a fair and peaceful transition with no argy bargy?

remember students are young kids really and easily led astray especially in the climate that pervades in this country at the moment, we are only fueling their fire and making it worse
