does anyone know of...

Any mp3 players that aren't too expensive that fit this description....

I want a smallish one with a screen and not too expensive with about 1gb-2gb of memory but I don't know which ones to look at? Has anyone got a cheapish one that isn't say an iPod that they could recommend? I'd prefer normal batteries too now after my ipod saga!

I've had an iPod & it's fooked now (the battery wont charge and it's out of warranty! ) and although I loved it, now I've got my car I won't really use it the same. It's gona be used for the gym so I don't wana break the bank.

Thanks in advance!

After having the same problem as you with my ipod i went and got misen one of these
eBay.co.uk: sony flash mp3 player, 1gb, black (item 270102973659 end time 02-Apr-07 19:23:43 BST)

you can get them in different colours (ie pink)-lol

but they are really dinky but good quality, and fit enough tunes on

I have recently decided to join the ipod generation. I got mine for using in the car. You can get a kit thats pretty easy to fit and enable you to select your albums , tracks etc through your stereo. I would be lost without mine now. I dont have one single cd in the car now its great.

id deffo go for a little sony one like what betty posted. it looks pretty neat that one.
I have a ipod nao and (touch wood) ive had no probs with it yet. I dont have a CD player in my car and i use it in there and its fab I know what you mean about the nano's for recharging - as i have my lappy on most of the night anyway i charge it up through that so dont have a probs with the battery life in it.

I used to have an 'I RIVER' mp3 player and i would say do not get one of them. I had major probs with it and it used to make the tracks 'stutter' and wouldnt charge up or would say it had a full battery and then just die for no reason....it drove me mad and it cost me £150 too but i got my money back on that one as i played hell in HMV and got me dosh back.
